High Island?

Ha! at home against a known opponent is one thing. being on the road against a relatively unknown good team makes this more like an early playoff game.

This is exactly what HI needs as well. Their schedule has been soft so far: http://sixmanfootball.com/why_test.php?t=1268

So, just for my own understanding, an unknown opponent is one which is 300 miles away, with players and coaches who have never played RS.
And a known opponent is a team which is much closer but also with players and coaches who have never played RS.
Am I on the right track here?

Freeagent, I can nearly guarantee if you set up a hospitality tent and serve carp salad you will meet the legend........ and if you happen to spike the lemonade with a little "ear alcohol", that would greatly enhance the chances........

If you are saying Zephyr is an unknown opponent to RS then yes we have different definitions.

Also, just to clarify. I think RS wins by a large margin. They are good. Real good.

The only difference that I can see in opponent Z and opponent HI is 300 some-odd miles.

Except that opponent Z has a reputation for being some very tough competition.
Opponent HI is working on that reputation, but lacks just a little achieving it.

I am just saying that a known opponent would be one with coaches and/or players that have been played before.

I think granger has a super tough avocation. He does a great job of putting empirically based rankings & spreads out for us to peruse and debate while the vast majority of us base our rankings and potential outcomes on emotion......... Pearls before swine comes to mind.........

Dear Libbertylovin' agent,

Yes I will done be there. Yew will done be underwhelmed....

Now I gotta make the trip across town. By the way, due to the late change (and the fact that the Lifegate Church Skool kids is going to that den of iniquity called "Austin" to play a team of kids that are skippin' skool; aka "Home Skoolers,") there isn't going to be a concession stand for the event.

I'd suggest bringing your own flask of ever-cleer or snake-bite-repellant, or whatever you call it.

Hints for snack runs: There's several convenience stores along Hwy 123 Bypass as you enter town from IH-10; last call is at the Commanche Creek store ... when you get to the four-way stop at Hwys. 466 & 477, you'd normally turn left (staying on FM 466 for about 1/2 mile) to go to Lifegate, but if you turn right (which is FM 477), the place is on your right a few feet.

I posted a couple dining recommendations on facebook this morning for the folks from RS, so I'll share them here as well. New Braunfels (about 20 miles away from Lifegate) or San Marcos (about 30 miles) has all sorts of joints. In Seguin, a few of the better places are:

Clear Springs Café (technically in New Braunfels, but still in Guadalupe Co.), on Hwy 46 between Seguin and New Braunfels

Garcia's -- two locations; E. Court St. behind HEB and also IH 10 & SH 46

El Ranchito - 983 N SH 123 Bypatss

Casa Sol - S SH 123 just south of FM 466

By the way, if you try to navigate to Lifegate without aid of GPS, you're going to go through the great metropolis of Seguin and think you're out in the middle of nowhere. But that means you have about another mile to go to get to Lifegate.

Yew iz down rite hepful. I think yew mite have the gift of hospitality. And I'm thinking Cleer Springs iz in my future.

Sound the sirens, Red Alert! Per Smokey Joe on the radio thread. Anyone going to Seguin on Saturday will be disappointed. Another change regarding this game. It's now at 6:00 on Friday. Still in Seguin, I guess.

Actually it was per Guru on another thread. The schedule has been updated on the schedule page though so I feel fairly confident this is correct though I assume no liability in the reporting of this update. If you really want to make sure of the day and time I suggest everyone call, text, email or PM Cowboy Parks. Feel free to contact him at any hour of the day or night.......... If you need his contact info I will cheerfully provide it. I think 3 or 4 a.m. would be an opportune time to get in touch with him.
Meanwhile I will be booking a flight to a country with no extradition agreements with the U.S..........

Do you mean the wait til the week of the game to decide on a location, then change of venue, then change of date and time were all the fault of he of the orange mohawk? Jeez, what else can he screw up.
