Field lighting help

Need help/advice with field lighting. Coop is helping with wire and poles, but still wondering about the height of the poles and the type of heads used and how many per pole. Any info would be appreciated!

As a photographer at 6-man fields, all I can recommend is however many lights you're planning to put up - for the love of God, DOUBLE IT!!! HaHa!

We went with lights about 50-60 feet up (in fact, the lights are about 5 feet from the top of the poles, because that's as far up as the cherry picker could go). We have four banks of five lights, but actually, we only use four of each bank because it gives enough light and doesn't overload the system. The key is spending a little time with the cherry picker and folks on the ground identifying that the entire field is covered, including the corners of the end zones.

And while you're running wire, go ahead and put in speakers and speaker wire (you can get away with one good speaker on each side of the field).

How far off the sideline are the poles, and do you happen to know what wattage the lights are? BTW thanks for reminding me about speaker wire.

I believe our lights are 1500 watts each, but I'll check. I'd have to measure the location of the poles, but my guesstimate is that they are about 20-30 feet off the field, at about the 20 yard lines on each side.
