While there has been a lot of bandwidth about Castle Hills' 5-0 start and several big wins, I do need to put a shout out to the kids over at Selma River City Believers Academy.

The Soliders have had a tough row to start their program over the past three or four years, but this year, they are 5-1. Congrats to Coach Burnett and the guys over there behind the race track ...

Makes next week's district game at Seguin Lifegate a lot tougher than we thought it might be. Sorry I'm gonna miss it, though. Actually missed tonight's Lifegate game, which I think is the first one I missed since 2007 or 2008.

I've been seeing some of the Selma scores and noticed great improvement. It's wonderful to see programs progress. It seems like the talent gap between schools and districts is shrinking. There are still a few elite teams around, but the other schools are getting closer each season.
