I believe when its all over in 2009, this will happen.
Dallas Tyler Street and Duncanville Christway will be legit teams.
Alvin Living Stones will make the most significant jump in wins (guessing 7 wins).
SA Town East will be back in the hunt. Good returning numbers.
FREDERICKSBURG HERITAGE will once again take home the TAPPS D-II CROWN

D-2 FINAL GAME : Dallas Tyler Street vs. --------
Dallas Tyler Street wins

Guys, Geneva and Veritas will not be playing district this year. That leaves our district with only one new team. That being Believers. As far as our district (5), I believe it is going to be one like back in 07. Town East, Freddy, and Lifegate all tied for the district title that year. I am not saying it will end in a tie, I just believe we will all be very competitive with each this year.
Without seeing anyone this year and just going by last years teams and whats returning this year, I would pick Tyler Street to be my preseason #1 team. There are at least 6 or 7 teams this year I believe that have a legitimate shot at the final 4, and maybe 4 or 5 teams that can make it to the finals. It should be an exciting year, I am looking forward to it.

isn't Joshua in TCAF now? also, don't fall asleep on Fellowship, they have all but one returning to this years team plus prolly newbies as well....
should be exciting! I'm hoping Tyler Street isn't that great only b/c I play them in district for basketball and we know how good they are in basketball!!!!

so i was checking the schedules of some teams and it look like notre dame and brownwood arent playing? how can this be when they are in the same district. anyone want to shed some light?

McKinney Cornerstone won't be competing in District 2 this year.

As for the rest of District 2, Tyler Street should be the odds on favorite, with Christway pulling in a close #2. The rest of District 2 is wide open. We have a very young district, nobody lost anybody of consequence, and Longview Trinity will be a wild card. They have big numbers from what I understand...something like 22 kids going out for football this year.

Freddy is still the champ, and until someone beats em', they're my pick to win it again. I agree with tepryde though, this will be an exciting year for Div 2 in TAPPS. There are 6-8 really talented teams that all have a good shot at it. Fellowship is still loaded, and Brenham is too. Victory Life made a big turnaround last year. And let's not forget about Living Stones...Coach Ware is great and if Ward shows up there it should make for a fun year in Alvin.

August 3rd can't come quick enough!!!!

Veritas and Boerne Geneva will not be competing in district this year. San Antonio Believers will be.

From information I've received from TCAF, both Joshua Christian and Dallas Academy are moving from TAPPS to TCAF. Sorry, but I hope there is a special place in h-e-double-hockey sticks for school and athletic administrators who move their teams in the middle of a realignment period.

Falcon, I agree with you about Alvin Livingstones. Coach Ware is a very good coach and he will squeeze everything he can out of his young team, as of now, they are very young and green. But, should Ward come and play for him, then that changes everything. They will quite possibly become a legitimate final 4 team. Its funny how just one player can make that much of a difference. But hey, its sixman football!
Wonderdog- Let me do it like this. I will leave my district out of the picture totally and give you my picks.
#1-Tyler Street
#2-Brenham (new coach)
#3-Christway (new coach)
#4-Arl. Fellowship
#5-Jesus Chapel
Victory Life, Christ the King, Livingstones, and Bellville Faith are all teams that should be mentioned. I am probably leaving out a couple of teams that I just dont know much about also. Remember, I believe Freddy, Lifegate, and Town East will be very solid teams this year, and I would put all three in the top ten, maybe even higher. Is this enough to get the talk going?

Here are my choices as HEAVY-WEIGHTS.....

Brenham Christian returns 5 Offensive players / 6 Defensive players from a state semi-final game in which they played close with Freddy.

Dallas Tyler Street returns speed, talent at every position and they all return from a state title game.

Arlington Fellowship & Coach Harris all the pieces in place for a serious run at the title. They return all starters on both sides of the football.

San Antonio Town East did'nt lose a single player from last years team.

Fredericksburg Heritage has Coach Shipman and his program is as good as it gets in the D-II ranks. I look for them to fall back with the pack BUT they do have ALOT of playoff experience from previous years.

Here are my choices for THE MIDDLE WEIGHTS.........

Duncanville Christway has enough talent to stay up with the heavy weights.

Brownwood Victory Life has shown improvement from year to year. I look for them to be a team to reckon with. Their located in the heart of Gordon Wood Country.

Lubbock Christ The King returns a good core of players. If the Saiz kid can double his rushing yards and td's, then look out for CTK.

Alvin Living Stones will do better than they ever have in win totals for a single season (4 in 2006). I believe Coach Ware will field a competitive team that is a year away. They return no seniors, just a slew of juniors. They will be a playoff team but will falter in the first round when they run up against any team listed above.

So there is my TOP 9 that I think will be in it come Late November to December......
