Best Rivalries for new fandom page.

I am currently working on a fandom page dedicated to the best six-man football rivalries in Texas. For the page I need the rivalries themselves, the record between the two teams, first meeting etc. It would great to learn some fun facts about the games too!
 
I would say Miami and Follett but Follett has the huge upper hand in wins vs losses. Maybe Lefors and Miami would be better

In the 70’s and 80’s Cherokee would probably be dominant over RS. The 90’s IM betting was split pretty evenly. No idea about anything earlier than the 70’s. That might help to make it more even than most would think. My buddy is recovering from a surgery so I can’t call him up and ask him but I know for sure Cherokee was powerhouse in the 70’s. In the 80’s RS wasn’t very competitive and Cherokee was definitely competitive . The 2000’s I’m sure RS has dominated.
 
Rankin vs GC has been called the Rumbleweed Classic for several years now and includes a wrestling type belt for the winner. This year, though, GC's staff claimed they had no idea that had been going on and acted surprised when Rankin was waiting on the belt after winning, so I doubt this tradition continues. GC was a lot more cool when Jones was there....

This is a great website to look at to go back and see any of the 6-man teams that used to play 11-man. It is, however, an 11-man website. Would be really cool to see a 6-man version of this.

If you get on there and look around, there are tons of stats on there. Coaching history, records, playoff records, head-to-head games and final results.

It's very easy to spend a couple hours looking at this, I apologize. 😂 Give you guys something to do on Fridays now.

They started playing in 1930 and played each other twice a year, once in non-district and once in district until the UIL told them they couldn't do that any more, sometime in the 1950s. There wasn't a game played in 1942 because of World War II. They didn't play each other from 2004 - 2018, except in 2014, they played a 6 man game in Robert Lee and in 2015, they played an 11 man game in Bronte. There is also a championship belt awarded to the winner, signifying the Coke County Championship. This has been a bitter rivalry, with the 2 schools disliking each other. The towns also dislike each other, although not as much now as in the past. The history behind that is that the County seat was in a town called Hayrick. Sometime in the 1930s, people moved out of Hayrick, some to Robert Lee and some to Bronte. There are different stories about why, but mainly it was because of a water shortage due to the drought. After Hayrick was almost a ghost town, there was an election held to name a new County seat. From my understanding, it was a bitter election and I've heard stories Robert Lee won by one vote, although I can't confirm that.
 
Lone Star Football Network shows Strawn playing Gordon back in 1923 with a lot of subsequent years where they possibly didn't play? I find that hard to believe. The Texas High School Football History link shows Strawn playing 11-man from 1920 thru 1956 with no listing for Gordon playing 11-man football. Maybe some of the Gordon faithful has some records on Gordon's 11 man seasons.

The Texas High School Football History website shows both Bronte and Robert Lee first football season being 1928. Do you have a record of earlier teams?
