first round game has to be Notre dame vs. El Paso could go either way
Second round Brenham vs. Seguin or Freddericksburg vs. Arlington Fell.
Semi's Dallas Tyler Street vs. Seguin winner has best shot at a state championship

Let's play them a week at a time.

A bunch of folks have some serious football to play in week 10 to decide where things shake out ...

I know all of us here at lifegate are excited with the anticipated match up with Brenham but we all know to not look ahead of the BVL/WFC winner we are gonna take it one game at a time like Mr. Taddy said

All it takes is one key player to be injured at some time before or during the playoffs and all bets are off. For example, Dallas Tyler Street looks unstoppable, but take out their #7 and the dynamics change tremendously on offense. I totally agree with LifegateSports - let's play 'em one at a time and see what happens.

Lifegate's schedule may be worst than UTs'(we'll maybe the aggies at kyle field could be a game).LCS got to get up for a 3rd seed team ( which in my mind, could mean 2 weeks of lazy practice) and then roll into an undefeated Brenham only to possibly come out of that game to meet Tyler street. I think the state champion is on this side of the bracket. But true champions rise to the occasion..want to be in the big game..and want the ball in their hand. Whoever wins this side will find this out way before Moody. I hope our boys (who are on new ground) can get the vision of taking their game to the next level of perfection and finish what they started in July. whatever the final scores read..I pray all the teams play their best game and have no season ending injuries.

Brother Robert the Second, before you start knocking the schedule, I did a little checking of opponents records.

Through week 11 -- Lifegate's opponents are 46-59 (remember, 10 of those losses are to Lifegate), with 7 going 40 minutes and no forfeits (week 10 open). I like that this team is battle tested, able to go the distance and ready. Three opponents with winning records (CASA 6-4, NYOS 6-4, Town East 7-3), and one win over the defending state champions (only the third time in six years that a D2 team has beaten them; Dallas Covenant and Town East in 2006, Lifegate 2009).

Brenham's opponents are 38-53 (again, 10 losses to Brenham); only 4 games going 40 minutes and one of those games a forfeit win (week 9 vs Bellville Faith; week 10 open). Not chopped liver, but I assume that these guys still put their pants on one leg at a time. Also three opponents with winning records (Kerrville Our Lady 8-2, Bryan Allen 8-3, Austin Hill Country 8-3).

I'll give Brenham the edge on strength of schedule, but let's assume that these two teams meet in week 12. There's no doubt that the prognosticators would give Brenham the edge on paper. But games are played on the field, not on paper.

We will be tested. But so will Brenham, and I doubt their coaches are going to skip practice that week and have team pizza and ice cream parties.

Oh, by the way ... my bet on the two best games in Round I, D2 are tonight:

Town East at Duncanville Christway (Azle Christian field). I pick Christway, but would not be suprised if Town East pulls an upset.

Fred Heritage vs Houston Texas Christian (Bellville Faith field). Heritage, maybe ending early. But probably not.

Wait till tomorrow night; then we'll start talking Week 12.

Whoa bro John , is that optimism I'm picking up on in your post ! ? I'm feeling you ''may be persuaded to become a believer''
I know your still getting over the shock of Freddy....lol..and to be truthful, I thought Freddy was gonna may it through the first round myself .More shocking,,,it doesn't look like it was even close.

All I'm saying is that I believe you will see your new state champ in the next two weeks....the moody game will be Duncanville
vs. a team that has already beat them or a team that beat the team who beat them. Right now all I know for sure is there are two 11-0 teams playing next week and both these teams have their hands full.

There you go, pulling that "scoreboard" stuff again.

Congrats.

The score tells it all!!! All you haters of Christway, give credit where credit is due. Before the win, everybody was more than willing to post how these boys would be "mauled", etc. the list goes on. WELL, IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. These kids are exceptional athletes and students who deserved this honor. Last year's defeat just made this win mean more.

bro you need to calm down.... the score didn't show anything.... brenham goofed up the first half but showed they were the better team in the second half... its over.... AND NOBODY IS A CHRISTWAY HATER!!!! i hate that rap saying..... please qoute all these "haters" in saying that they hate duncanville... yall won... be humble about it.... don't compromise the way people see your school because you can't keep your cool about a win that you didn't even help get....please

It really doesn't matter how YOU view the school. Those boys had nothing to do with that. I'm very calm. You know for a fact that you guys, YOU included, were tearing these boys down left and right. So now that we have the victory, you want to say we're not humble. Bro, please. It was nobody but God alone that secured that victory for those boys. Brenham wasn't prepared, we were. Enough SAID!

GO CHAPS!!!!!!!

If this is you calm, i hate to see you excited... And i'm sure the boys are very humble... YOU sir are not.... i promise if Brenham had won, their fans would not be on this site saying stuff about haters and oh snap and all this take it and eat it type talk....that isn't humble... giving the glory to God is... whether you win or lose... you play for God .. he doesn't play for you... I never said yall were a bad team... but i think brenham is better... i think tyler street is better... i think lifegate is better... but that doesn't make duncanville a bad team.. i think if yall play again, brenham wins.... congrats to duncanville for winning....I just hate that these boys worked so hard to win this and its being overshadowed some fan who has to gloat about it..... and not just once.... you've been on every post that has anything to do with it saying this stuff.....its not classy.... They won... its over.... can't wait to see the seniors in the allstar game....

Again congrats Duncanville... you earned it

This really sounds like sour grapes. People get excited over their teams when they win. What's so bad about that?

If BCA had won, how do you know that they would not also be celebrating their victory on the forums? Maybe you should look at last year's forums. Fredricksburg has some of the classiest supporters anywhere and they posted their happiness on the forums. Was that bad?

The game's over. You may think the better team lost and that Christway is the 4th best team in Division II, but the games are played on the field and the rules say that the team with the most points at the end wins. No excuses for injuries, mistakes, etc. Points tell the tale.

Looking forward to the all star game as well. These seniors deserve a good crowd to cheer them on.

Christway is the best team in Div II this year. They won it on the field. No one can take it away from them. Give them their due everybody. And no, Brenham, Lifegate, and Tyler Street are NOT better than Christway, if they were they would have proved it on the field. CHRISTWAY WELL DONE! YOU ARE STATE CHAMPS!

again.... saying congrats to your team is one thing (I just know if one of my athletes got on this site and started calling people haters and stuff i would rip his head off).... and there are no sour grapes here.... we did much better than we thought this year...

Coach Davis, tyler street beat duncanville.... on the field.... lol

BUT again they are the champs (and they deserve it)

CONGRATS i'll say it again if that sounds too sour...lol

You are right about that. I saw that game and didn't think anyone could take Tyler Street this year. Shows how much I know about football.

In 2002, St. Alban's pounded Happy Hill on the Pioneer's home field during the regular season. Happy Hill then pounded St. Alban's in the State Championship. No one knows what's going to happen until the game is played.

Timing is everything.

Good luck to your team next year.

thank you sir...

good luck to yall as well

its already looking like even more competitive games next year....

a four district league hopefully means district champs are in the four corners of the bracket... we'll see next year...
