Correct. The 8-team district raises some real concerns, especially if we’re capped at 9 games with no bye week. That puts us in a tough spot from both a scheduling and a player-health standpoint, and I’d really like to hear how that’s supposed to work. I understand TAPPS has a difficult job, and it’s not easy being in their shoes, but this setup creates some tough questions.
The potential playoff format makes it even more complicated. In our district alone, we’ve got at least three teams that should be contending in the South, and now they’ve added another district with only four teams. That creates a really uneven competitive picture, stronger districts fighting for one spot while a smaller district gets a much cleaner path.
I get that TAPPS is trying to make things better, but decisions like this make it hard to see how the balance is being maintained. This is why it’s important we get a clearer explanation of how these changes are supposed to help the overall structure.
