2015 State Championships

I hope you mean Dec 12th. It would be weird to play state champ games on a Monday.

And the guy who posted that was probably a 12 year-old. The fact that he said a stadium voted against having the games should have been a clue.
He's a Canadian................ That pretty much explains everything..................

topher80, chain successfully yanked.

Yeah, and it would probably take a 12 year-old to be proud of that.

I'm all for having a bit of fun, but it just seems out of place on a topic as banal as the location of the champ games.

Easy there BandDad, don't get your sousaphone all bunched up. It was a joke. Everyone knew it was joke.

You've been here all of two weeks, get your feet wet then you can start insulting people.

Anyone who shows up to a football board - ESPECIALLY a 6-man board - with a screen name like 'banddad' is not worth the effort. He is either a troll, or one of the worst spellers on the internet.

Just sayin'.

Awww shucks guys, thanks for defending this sad old Canadian... or at least not making MORE fun of me. Perhaps BandDad is from Darrouzett and doesn't like me bringing the hallowed ground that is Longhorn Field into disrepute. If that is the case BandDad, I am sorry. As an act of contrition, I will buy one Costco sized bag of grass seed and one Costco sized bag of fertiilizer and mail it to the fine folks at Darrouzett ISD. Heaven knows the field could use it. If that is not case and you are just a surly gentleman.... bugger off and leave us humorless (note the American spelling) folks to our usual banter.

We need a like button. There's really nothing I can say to expound on topher80's post - but it would be nice to let him know I liked what he said. This coming from an FB addict.

Indeed we are swires!

Back on the subject, all the accommodations in Darrouzett and Follett are fully booked as of today. I will post whatever I find with regards to rooms in Booker and Perryton later this evening. People will have to probably look at Higgins or Canadian soon. Shattuck is OK but it is ... well, OK. ;)

Perryton and Canadian both have turf fields but Canadian has one of the nicest facilities up here in the northern country. They just built some new hotels and also have one of the best eatin outfits around!!!! My vote is Canadian.

I was hoping this far in advance that the Waldorf Darrouzett or the relatively new Plaza@Follett (a swanky boutique hotel catering to oil baron's hipster offspring) might have at least a block or two of rooms. I guess people are awfully confident that their team is going to make it to state.

Once the kids go to bed I'll start looking. Cowboy was telling me that the Trump International Perryton is pretty good... room service lacks a certain finesse that us six-man folk are accustomed too but still does the job.

I thought the games were being held at the Hornet Dome in Rochelle, AKA center of Texas if not the known universe. We had the Yellow Duck set for catering the concessions and Flats got a deal on surplus tents to put everybody up.
Dang just when I think I have learned how things work they change the rules on me...................

Rochelle had to give it up because the the accommodations in Brady and Brownwood were all booked up. Some sort of insurance convention or something....

Smokey, as an alumni I figured you'd be pullin' for Tarleton. About the right size, centrally located, several six man towns around, plenty of hotels and they've got trees for all those from the West to gaze at while visiting.
