Yew must be funnin’

Yew must be funnin’ bout Strawn bein’ 12 in the overall rankins. Yew has done got to be akiddin’ me. They iz a proven powerhouse and defendin’ champs and they iz 12 overall?

Does anyone remember the last time RS started out with a preseason ranking as low or lower than 18?? My faith in the system that ranks these teams is completely rattled now. I bet they are top 5 at least.

There are several in the overall rankings that are way too low; Strawn and RS included, and several that are way too high; such as Leakey, Blum, Ira. But one thing is for sure. They should all find their correct level by the end of the season.

If Landon remains out until sometime in October, RS's ranking right now is probably pretty close to being on the money.

No way it’s accurate, but time will prove that. With Landon they are easily top 3, without they are no lower than 5 or 6. I’m just ready for all the haters to see exactly what RS has talent wise

Strawn iz the one slighted. They shud done be overall numero uno. They iz the ones with the big ol S on the chest.

I don't think Landon can play the entire year if the UIL enforces it's absurd ruling because he moved yet again. The rule for a non-district living transfer is they must sit out a year, and Landon just now reenrolled at RS.

For the record, I do not agree with my above statements but am applying the rules as I see them. Personally, I think the UIL is autocratic and does not believe in the presumption of innocence.

that is incorrect.. he should be able to play the last two games of the the regular season

How? The one sure to get eligibility is to sit out a year AT ONE SCHOOL. Since the UIL won't give Landon any leniency, isn't that the standard? It would be for any other student who didn't live in the school district.

I hope I'm wrong because it makes the UIL seem even more arbitrary and capricious.

never thought I'd say it but I agree with Goob. but rankings are only a starting point. Lord knows I wouldn't want to do it. It all works out by the end. best site and most realistic ranking system out there in my opinion

Tebow, what makes you think that he doesn't live in the district?

I know he does, but how does a person get eligible after the UIL says you moved for athletic reasons?

To me, either A. The process starts over and Landon can play week 1, which I am 1000% in favor of B. He gains eligibility by sitting out a year. In neither case does the date of when he enrolled at Rankin, Sterling City, the appeal, or anything that happened last year matter at all. My comment was in response to people saying he can play in October.

I heard your local Gibson’s and TG&Y will have those shirts in stock soon for back to school shoppers........

I've still got an old Gibson's brand scope om my dad's old 30-30, also a Rolling Stones 8 track bought there.

I guess the shirts will have a picture of a boat oar on the front, or a carp?

Dear Tim,

I knowd I shudn’t done weigh in on all thiz, but when has that ever stopped me. Three things:

1. He iz done eligible come Oct 29. Period. It don’t done matter if he iz aplayin’ here, Montana or Mars. So quit tryin’ to figger it out. The U. I. Of L. has done mandated from on high. Oct 29, Oct 29, Oct 29. So ferget yur speculatin’ bout section 2 dash 4 rule 5 crapola. Oct. 29. And it will done be interestin’ to done see who’ll be laffin’ then...

2. It iz interestin’ to note that Landon has done achieved one name status like “Cher” or “Shaq”. Everybody done knowd who it is when you done say the name. And it ain’t that feller who played the daddy on that Little House on the Prairie.

3. When he iz done set loose to play...katey bar the door. It’ll be like a pin ball shot out on ice rink...

So Two teams left for Landon to play against in district after Oct 29th!! Cherokee and Rochelle!! Which will both be hungry and looking forward to a playoff opportunity since Lohn probably won’t play and Panther Creek has 6 young kids. Wonder how hard those coyotes will play to prove to their old coach that Rochelle is a long way from “climbing the mountain”!! I bet RS wins both games by 60 at half !! But only time will tell right

He's done gained over 300 yards in 11 man once. All them Christian skools RS plays should be glad they don't have to play him before October. Then look out. Hope the Valley and Rigdon boy's can carry the torch till then.

Why is everyone being a peckerwood? The UIL is a peckerwood because they won't let Landon play and everyone else is a Peckerwood because they can't explain why that date in October matters. If he really "moved for athletic reasons," then why are you giving him special treatment? I wish I had gone to law school because I would sue the UIL without charging the Burkhart's a dime.

On a lighter note, I have a question for Goob: Who would win? 2019 Yotes with all their guys or the 2007 Gustine "loaded, loaded, loaded" Tigers?
