Whiteface or Gordon to win state?

I'm on the fence, but going with Gordon only because I've seen them play this year... Those kids are the real deal. I'm not taking anything away from the Whiteface kids I just haven't seen them play this year, but from everything I've heard and read it will be a great game, both programs should be proud.

Personally I think Gordon will win as they are the reigning champions but Whiteface could win this if they dominate on defense and offense
Generally when a team dominates on both sides of the ball they come out on top. :ROFLMAO:

I see Gordon being referred to more and more as "a different animal" which really just means that are a complete type of team in six-man and its a rare thing. They are very good in all phases of the game and are loaded with talent which makes them almost impossible to defend and they play solid defense too. Most of their starters earned gold at state in track last year but they can be as physical as they can be fast. Top that all off with the coaching staff they have with multiple state title appearances and wins and its just the perfect storm of a football program. Also throw in that Gordon returned all but 1 starter from last year's team, which was the first team to 45 all of their opponents in Six-Man history. If you look at who Gordon has knocked off in the playoffs, Abbott and even Jonesboro had state caliber teams this year that very well could have been championship teams in other seasons.

None of this takes away from Whiteface. Its no small feat to reach state in the first place. They have a great team and great coaching and I am sure will be ready to play and give it their best.

I'd like to see a homegrown team win it...not one put together by hiring coaches with kids.
This garbage perspective floats around every year about one team or another. From what I know Gordon is about as "homegrown" as it gets. I think there may be 1 starter that has been there 3 or 4 years and the rest a lot longer than that. Most of them have been playing together their whole lives. Two coaches with kids there and one of them was definitely homegrown. Most coaches have kids and it's not too much of a stretch to expect that the coach probably has good coached up kids.

If I remember right Coach Reed, after playing at Gordon was an assistant to Coach Parham, also of Gordon in about 2002 at Strawn. I think my daughter disliked him for insisting she do her math homework. He went on to Rule and Throckmorton, winning state at both, but he's homegrown if memory serves.

So schools shouldn't hire coaches with kids? Got it.

Take notes all you admins. You hire coaches with kids and you're cheating and some rando on the internet that nobody knows or cares about will talk bad about you and root for the other team.

To all you coaches. When you have kids you need to go into another line of work until your kids graduate or at least go get a job at a school with a terrible athletic program.

OR….. if you’re a coach and have a set of twins or triplets that are 6’3 220 and run 4.4 40 yard dash with a 42 inch vertical and can throw a 90 mph fast ball then come join the Tigers. I’ll even finish remodeling my rent house for you.
