I'm sure almost everybody has heard of the surprising upset in the Heritage Classical v. Lorenzo game. My question is...how does number 14 in the State lose so badly to a private school? Was it due to injuries, home field advantage...what I ask?

Yeah, I'd like to hear the story, too. A 45 dog wins by 48 ... the bookies in Lorenzo are probably smartin' from that loss.

I was scouting them at the Lefors Scrimmage and they did look pretty good. Their offense was decent but their defense was crazy. I was sitting at the top of the bleachers and even from there you could hear them yelling. They dominated the other teams when it came to defense. As far as the Lorenzo game, I know that they played in Lorenzo and I haven't of any injuries for either team. Even though they didn't win, I wouldn't overlook Lorenzo cause they do have a lot of talent and it was their first game.

No injuries, Lorenzo had the home field advantage, and being homeschool vs. public school doesn't really matter too much in my thinking. Lorenzo has a LOT of athletic talent. At half the score was HCA 20 Lorenzo 6 so it WAS a pretty close game up to that point. In the 4th quarter Lorenzo just gave up. HCA has a solid team this year offensively and defensively...the guys are a much closer team than they were last year and it shows on the field with their defensive communication as well as their offensive teamwork. We still have a LOT to work on but we look much better than we did last year at this point in time. Be careful of Lorenzo though, they DO have talent...I am sure they will come out with a vengeance in Week 1! Good luck to them for the rest of the season. Hopefully EVERY game this season will be as injury-free as that one!

I see Heritage beat Groom , congrats coach. Two questions, who was picked to win that game, and the second question is am I right about the defense being insane like they were at Lefors?

I'm kind of thinking that Amarillo Heritage Classical may be turning into the team to beat in DII.

But there will be others who want to dispute that point, so let's just go ahead, play the next nine weeks of the season and then the playoffs, and humor those folks ... and see who stands at the end.

HCA was picked to win by 28 over Groom...and yes our defense looked really good. Groom didn't score until the 3rd quarter when we put in our full 2nd string defense. Later in the game Groom drove down to the 8yd line on my 2nd string...at that point the 1st string was put back in and they kept them from scoring. Any defense who can keep a team from scoring fin 4 downs from the 8yd line in 6man football is pretty good in my book.

Wow, im impressed, any team who makes a stop like that you have to watch out for. Wish you luck on the Happy Game. Is there something wrong with your schedule online because it says you play Happy twice?
I notice your coming up behind Fredricksburg on the rating, very nice.

Unfortunately we ARE scheduled to play Happy twice...1st at their place and then at ours. BUT if we could get them a team to play next week and we could find a competitve team to play us at our place next week then I am sure we could change that.
