What if 6a schools offered 6 man?

I have a theory on this, that there would be a lot more injures than at the small school level because of the size and speed of players at the 6a level. But it would be cool to see two of em go at it I think.

Back in the days of when 6man was very popular nation wide some larger schools did have a 6man team and filled it out with their younger players/JV, not sure if this happened in TX but I did happen n other states...California comes to mind.

I do think there is benefit in bringing that kind of thing back, 6man I think is great development for skill position players...much like how schools use 7 on 7 in the off-season. I dont know why no one has caught on to this

My proposal on this idea is to have a weight limit on a 6 man football team for a team that already has an 11 man team at the same school. Kind of like wrestling and boxing. Have an open class football team for 11 man and a weight class 6 man team(or teams) for some of those aggressive kids(the majority of boys) that need an outlet for their energy, but in a big school can't make the team. I realize this is more dream than possibility due to the budget requirements to fund coaching and equipment, but I think it would be better overall for developing more young men through the hard work, team work, and character building that football can provide. Imagine a 6A school with an open team eleven man team, an under 180lb six man team and an under 140 six man team. Talk about some exciting football. Where to play all of these games, now that is another story.

Could you image the scores if Allen, Denton Guyer, Southlake Carroll, Stephenville played 6-Man....They are great offensive minds in 11-man. They would rarely get stopped in 6-Man in my opinion..Only a mistake would stop them..
