What happened?

I'm assuming something drastic happened over the weekend, or there's a computer malfunction. How in the world did Oakwood just jump Mount Calm, when Mount Calm hasn't lost, met or beat the spread in all but one game; and most importantly, beat Oakwood head to head by double the spread??? I know this is for fun, and I can somewhat get Paducah, but two teams, with a combined 8-11 record make up our top 10. Hmmm.

Looks good to the Saturday morning QB, but I am not so sure I like it. Now there is bulletin board material for someone.....rankings are for the birds and really dont mean anything in the long run...the best teams will win. May it all be settled on the field and not in the rankings.

I agree, but it seems like they just keep moving yall up because of Milford game, which isn't the same team playing now. No disrespect at all, you moving them in the right direction.

Oh I get what its' saying, I just don't get how a "quality" loss against ANY team not in the Top 10 has more weight than undefeated. Especially, when one of those "quality" losses comes from the undefeated name in question - by double the same computer's spread. I know it means nothing, but I haven't got to post in a few weeks so I have to say something to make sure Im still alive.

The Toy is just that, a toy. Granger has been working on this algorithm for many years and continues to play with his toy. The fun part is that he shares his toy with the rest of us! We all know that the games are won on the field and not on paper....still fun to play with the toy....

The Saturday Morning QB, for my part was intended to be a place for anybody to comment on any of the previous nights games. Not a soap box. Regarding the rankings I question some of them too. As Granger said it's a tough thing to do, this year especially. There are so many teams at 8-1 it's amazing. In DII Southland 8-1 at # 16? Mt. Calm 8-0 # 12? Oakwood 5-5 #10, Paducha 3-6 # 9?
In DI Gordon 10-0 # 13? Zephyr 7-2 # 10? Milford 7-2 #14, Coolidge, Aspermont, Nazaerth all at 8-1 at 15,16,11? Crowell 5-3 # 4?
I'm no math whiz and don't understand the algorithms. The Toy normally gets more accurate this time of year but this one is a tough nut to crack.

I thought the whole point of rankings was to give a format for debate and conversation. Im not questioining Grangers integrity. I just look at the rankings and enjoy the debate. Im still confused on Oakwood being in the top 10 and mount calm being #12.

Common Opponents
Trinidad Mount Calm +4
Fannindel Mount Calm +17

Head to Head
Mount Calm 89
Oakwood 67
Mount Calm +22

Total = Mount Calm +39

By the current rannkings, Oakwood would be a 4 point favorite, eben after losing by 22 three weeks ago. Once again, this isnt to question Granger, but to add comment to the rankings to invoke debate. Please dont defend Granger. He hasnt done anything wrong to need defending.
