FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUSTIN, TX—
The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League issued penalties for violation of UIL rules and handed down decisions on the eligibility of student-athletes on Monday.

Penalties were issued to Houston Sterling High School for violation of Sections 52(a)(4) and 1210(a)(6) of the UIL Constitution and Contest Rules. Houston Sterling High School was issued a public reprimand and placed on probation for two years for violation of steroid testing protocol.

Student-athletes from Corpus Christi Calallen High School, El Paso High School, Van High School and two student-athletes from Mission Sharyland High School were denied their appeals for varsity eligibility upholding the previous rulings of the district executive committees.
