This is why is why i hate divisions

How could you possibly know having only 1 division with no split would guarantee this didn’t happen. Would there not still be teams with low numbers, no pass no play, injuries, etc…unless your saying the smaller schools with lower enrollment wouldn’t have secured a playoff spot, and that would defeat your entire argument. This is a good discussion and nothing personal Techman32, just disagree. You graduate from TT? My son did during the Covid year and has done amazingly well. He credits the University with the success he is having. Great school!
Because there would be 8 team districts and there would be no 3 team districts. No one misses the playoffs. Which is the goal, to make the playoffs first and try your best to win it all. It's 2024 dude...

I can’t remember ever having 8 team districts when I played. Before the split

If your knowingly in advance going to drive many miles to get 45'd or more in 20 minutes, with no hopes of a trophy, what's the point?

Gordon scores every possession and is dominant on defense. They'll win 2 more since they were all basically sophomores last season and 45d everyone they played. Way too much experience and talent on that team. After they're done with that group, could go down as the best 6man team ever imo.
they sure could

i wasnt saying Jayton would win, just that anything is possible. i believe Gordon would win

It doesn't matter if you know your chances are slim to none, the point is the kids have earned the right to represent their town in a playoff game of which is something to hold your head high and be proud of. Having success by making it to the playoffs (win or lose), can change the culture of a program and community. Forfeiting for not being able to field a team is one thing but to forfeit a game because you're likely going to lose...well that's just all kinds of wrong and is a disgrace to the kids and the game in general. Anyways, that's my two cents.

Yeah if Gordon forfeits.
an example would be Mclean from a few years ago. they steamrolled their way to the state title, then returned practically their entire team the next yr. they thought the title was theirs for the taking as they steamrolled their way back to the title game. Everyone predicted they would go back to back, because they were so talented and dominant. BUT they ran into a buzzsaw named Blum, Who Shocked everyone by upsetting them.

i agree with u 100% forfeiting just because u know/ believe Ur going to lose is wrong. i mean forfeiting because u don't have enough players, that's understandable. But to forfeit because u believe Ur going to lose. No Way!!! i mean if u believe that than it means u have no faith in ur team and ur players have no faith in themselves.

i remember a few years back when i was radio broadcasting a Valley Playoff bi-district game against Lefors. Before the game while i was setting up, the Head Coach/AD from Lefors came into the press box to bring team rosters. i congratulated him and his team for being there and that they deserved it. he told me that "this game will be over early, we are going to get 45'd quick" When he said that i thought to myself, that i hope he doesn't instill that kinda mindset in his players, because if they think that they won't win any games. now Yes Valley did 45 Lefors that night, but the point is u still have to believe in yourself, otherwise the game is over before it even starts
