The big C - a nightmare in the making.

Oh I believe that type 2 diabetes (as opposed to type 1 diabetes) is almost 99.99 % nutrition caused/nutrition controlled. I'm proof of that controlling my sugar levels strictly by diet without needing to take any meds. But I caught it early. And I would be an "obvious diabetic by choice" if I didn't control my lust for chocolate and pasta; but what about my friend Kayla, thin as a reed and and a health food addict who developped type 2 diabetes in her early 30's after giving birth to her first child? No amount of nutritional tinkering can undo whatever is wrong with her body which apparently was triggered by the pregnancy and did not reverse. I'm just saying that there are some things that go wrong with our bodies that are not amenable to correction by environmental changes as much as we might wish that were true,.

Sorry to hear that about your friend
and it's quite possible
that she could be that exception to the rule.
But to say something isn't possible
without even trying it
sounds weird to me.
jus sayin'.
(I'm not supposed to say the word crazy)

This month's Texas Monthly was in the mail today. Article about Larry Hagman/JR/Captian Nelson and the "New" Dallas coming up on TNT and with info on his bout with throat cancer starting last fall. Filmed the 4th episode before the 1st treatment. 6 weeks of chemo & radiation , a filmore, nutritionist and controler: Linda Gray. Talking horasely again for the interview. He's 80. Had cirrosis of the liver with a transplant in the mid 90's. Used to drink 5 bottles of champagne a day.

Yep, truth mongers I'm sure.

Those conspiracy theories are on the same level as the big oil companies buying up the 100 mpg V8 carburator inventions. All bunk.
Bunk?
ALL?
Seriously?
Put you head back into the sand,
Obama will save you.

One last parting shot.
Remember this: Everything Hitler officially did was perfectly legal.

With no post on the blog in almost a month I was kinda hoping that no news is good news. Like maybe recovery is progressing well and the fishing trip is still on. I'm running away from the July/August Texas heat for a week and a half starting 6 weeks from tomorrow.

Great expedition 2K12 is still on. A fairly large group of us will be in Platoro the week of July22 for the purpose of taking trout, drinking, eating, and all around good fellowship.

Pete… Still don’t know if I will be able to get off for Y2K12 plus I just found out that I’m supposed to get a permission note from my cardio guy if I go above 6K in altitude. But if I can get off, I have several questions….

1. Nobody answered about the hunting license cost And should I pack camo or bring a blind with me?
2. Do I need to get a cabin reserved? As of right now I don’t think Zeek or Zach will make the trip.
3. If that Coach Jackson guy is going should I invest in a lockable ice chest. I know he loves to buy 2 dollar five-ninety-nine brew, polish off the good stuff and then offer his up in exchange.
4. I haven’t started the home brew yet but can still make up two batches. Any preferences as to flavor?

you got questions we got answers
>1 Never seen a game warden type so don't worry about hunting license, pack camo
>2 Can share with jackson and I
>3 Lockable ice chest is damn good idea
>4 Stout and stouter, no wheat or berry beers, IPA's acceptable- but nothing that makes coach Jackson fart, the cabins have no exhaust fans

Might want to take a can of air freshener just to be on the safe side.
I'm supposed to be over the mountain to the west about 50 miles starting Monday 7/30.
About 1/2 way between South Fork & Wolf Creek Pass.

I truly believe that no amount of abstinence from anything could reduce Coach’s flatulent affliction. I’ll head off to the brew shop and pick up some fixin’s for a nice stout or RIA. Its ok…. The Russian imperial is during the Czars time and in no way promotes commie-nism.

We did a number of Y2kxx about that locale. Divide Ranch... half way between Creed and Wolf Creek. Cabins were built in the 1880's as a ranching headquarters. Only ran about $45 a week on rental and at that they were overpriced. Chinking was all but gone and that wind was brutal at night. July and you thought you were sleeping in a meat locker. No electricity and only heat was wood burning stoves (circa 1880). Holy Moses how I miss that... and it looks like I'm gonna have to miss out this year. Seems the cardio-rehab people came up with at least 5 solid reasons why I better not go.

Listen to the cardio-rehab people. But you know you could send the home-brew along as your stand-in for the trip. I'm sure Pete and Coach would appreciate that.

I'm not actually drinking the home brew; I am taste testing it,( a glass at a time). As far as goes. I tend to get blamed for the smell of others. I claim mine with pride and you are even provided with an alarm system. Some in the group like to allow theirs to slowly and quietly sneek up on you.
