Spread triple option

After countless hours of brainstorming and beating the option on paper... I'm excited to say that I'm pretty sure I've developed a spread option package that is going to be VERY tough to stop... The way to stop the old option seemed to be a stacked and aggressive d-line.. And this beats that all day

Well I was thinking about that... Orr, I can convince a coach around the San Antonio area to try it out for the upcoming season and just post game footage

You're very right.. Nothing is unstoppable... It'll take time for someone's team to learn.. A system that you need to have your guys start practicing in junior high to get the experience.. And it adds pressure on your "spread back" to be able to think quick on the fly

Right... And this offense protects your best athlete.. Unless he is also your smartest athlete.. Haha then he is gonna get smacked around every once in a while

We'll I would like to see this in action. Teams have tryed to run an option out of jay bird but that's doesn't usually work in less you throw out of the formation as well. Basically for your formation to work you need an athlete that can think on a fly and isn't scared of taking a few hits. Just call the coach from Navey and find out what he sees in a QB for his team.

Unfortunately I deleted him out of my contacts.. Haha but the reason I placed it in spread was to give the QB a little more time to react to what the defense is doing

Most veers or triple options work well against average to weak defenses. Defenses that have sure tacklers in the open field it then becomes a different matter. Have you seen an O'brien veer run? Is yours similer?

I haven't seen theirs.. But I would be interested to see it.. And the way this one is run, your backside end better be fast or you have to pray for a missed block

I've sent it to another coach, and I'm gonna pick his brain about it.. Hopefully he will crush my theory and I can refine it before I have 30 others killing me at the same time..

The O'brien veer is what O'brien ran in the first year sixman had a state game. 1972 maybe. Several schools have ran the formation or parts of the formation down through the years. Havn't seen it ran in the last four or five years. It has a split end and a tight end. An I formation in the backfield with the fullback being 8 to 10 yards in the backfield.

I've got a center and a receiver on both sides.. Your snap handler 7 yds back for space, your quarterback directly behind him at about 8 yds, and your dive back directly behind him at about 13 yds... Your snap handler gives to the quarterback and becomes your pitchman.. Your first read is the play side d-end, then the corner is your pitch key with the receiver running a safety crack.. If the safety comes up for the run, you've either got a wide open receiver, or nobody on the outside.. Your center blocks the linebacker/nose guard..

You should really find a way to convert the pistol offence in to six man. Would be a very hard one to stop with fakes and options. Then also leaving WR open on short routs.

3-3. Everybody man up. At least that's what this coach would do:) Maybe even a 4-2 man like Freddy runs.

Which is where the receiver cracking the safety comes into play.. Removes the corner threat as well.. Becomes either a QB keeper or quick pitch.. Running any type of man just makes the QBs decision easier... It will expose your worst player and that's who we will force to make the play.. It might take a series or two, but we will get him..

And with the formation, you can still run normal spread plays to make teams get out of that.. The formation won't change so you'll never know if it's the option or an audible..

That is my next project.. Haha

I've seen teams try to run basically what you are saying here...Goree ran something kind of like it in 1982 and what Highland did stopped it cold...but then again I think Monte Richburg was tackling all three guys in the backfield at once...thus eliminating an kind of read or option
