Valley - Borden County Friday in Idalou. Not sure of the time but probably 7:30

I guess I wasn't paying good attention the first time I read this. I was told 6:00 Saturday at Idalou. But, I haven't seen anything official.

I read it like 5 times. It said Sat @ 6 in Idalou every time. But I write Friday at 7:30. Sorry. Just call me the Kansas State defense tonight.

Going off of week 11 rankings, 7 of the 8 2nd round teams are in the top ten. There are going to be some very very impressive games this week.
Grady(19) vs. petersburg(8)
Borden(5) vs. Valley(2)
Rankin(7) vs. Ira(1)
Throck(4) vs. Water valley(3)

some really great match up in the west this week!

Many of those teams are overrated and some are grossly underated!!

At this point everyone in Reg 2 is just in Valleys way and same for whoever is left in Reg 3 as Throck is the team to beat this year.

Once again the Semi Final game in the West will be a better game than the State matchup.

If I didnt have a roundball tourney to be at this weekend and had to decide on a "game of the week" to go watch it would probly be Ira/Rankin. The others will be pretty lopsided in my opinion!!

You DO realize that Valley is in Region 1 and Throckmorton is in Region 2, right? Or do you just not bother with those pesky facts before you go running off at the mouth. Good luck with your "roundball tourney," I hope you have better luck there.

Thank you for your opinion. It is obvious you are a wealth of football knowledge and a fountain of football wisdom.

Good luck at your BASKETBALL tourney this weekend.

Ruffled some feathers with that last post huh? Not trying to step on anyones toes,,,,,really!! Just stating what my eyes have seen this season. Do you follow a team in the East OFB? I have seen nearly every team on the list above play and most have played my Wildcats!! Water Valley, Grady and Rankin being ones I havent seen play ALL the rest my Cats have battled with. I hope WV can live up to their ranking/s all season since we have started the do or die part of the season. Number 1 Ira had four quarters of war with my #9/10 Wildcats. Friday night was the first full game they have played since week one. See my point with the rankings?? There is two top teams in each region and the rest are so close this year we need a tenth system to rank them.

Its been a fun year, but since I didnt have a dog in the fight that was the Wildcat football season I look forward to basketball, but only after we are finished with football!!

I will say it again! GO PLAY SOMEBODY!!! Rank doesnt mean much if you aint playing in December!! My Cats will most likely start next year ranked in the mid 20's and again have to fight their way back into the top ten by seasons end.

I hope someone proves me wrong and if they do I am man enough to admit it!!! Throckmorton doesnt need another title. Have you been past their school? They need to buy their own monument company!!

I am SUPER PROUD of my Wildcats this year. We went out first round but they can say they played some of the best teams in the state!!! They played against the best 6-man RB in the state, played against the two teams I see making it to the semi's and most likely playing and being in the same district as the team I see winning the title.

Looks like I did it again. More feathers ruffled!

You sir are correct on the regions!! My bad. Does it really matter though? Splitting hairs to me.

You are obviously a WV fan so I want to wish you and the fells'a the best of luck!! I hope they can put Throckmorton on the hardwood friday night because my Cats need someone to play!!

Now do me a favor and watch the entire game and notice how/who Throckmorton subs during the course of the game then report back your observations. They are a machine top to bottom not just one or two studs doing all the work. Sorry just stating what I have witnessed. Go get em!!

Ofb, I would bet at least a penny on the Valley-Borden County game. I would let you have first choice and be perfectly happy with the one you couldn't pick. I think it will be that close. As for as region 2, their biggest danger is beating each other up to point the eventual winner can't play with the Borden-Valley winner.

Paying for admittance to playoff games, I don't have an extra penny to bet. My kids go to BC, so I'll pick them. But, I ain't betting any money on it.

I'm looking forward to a great game.

You know, after going through the stats and schedules and scores for the year, and who beat who, I think that any given team could beat the other in all the games this week. Even more than that, I think that any team that is left could take the state title. I have no idea how they make their decisions as to the rankings on here, or how they make their picks.

Not real sure but think chicken entrails, bones and smoke are involved in the process..................................

Rankin vs Ira looks like a great match up to look forward to, I don't think Rankin has ever beaten Ira since becoming six man, but this Saturday will mark the first time. Rankin 60 Ira 48, Rankin just has to much running game for Ira's defense. If yall have yet to see Rankin's running attack, go out to one of these games and you will get a real treat.

I think it all will wind up because of talent, coaching, teamwork, desire and heart, and, of course, throw in those other little (big in my books, but small, maybe, in other's eyes), factors called faith and luck. Many of those you can't rank or predict, but I think they all have to be there.

Old, personally, I think a balanced attack will take most games, but as to treats and thrills, I love to see a good passing attack. IMHO. Now, that excludes Jim Brown, who was always exciting to watch, even as an old Dallas fan, way back in the beginning, when Cleveland used to run all over the Cowboys because of him and how he ran the ball. I don't think anyone will ever come close to him.

I agree a Air Raid is some real fun to watch, a heavy run or pass game can be a boom or bust system.

Looking at games from the east and west i know any team wishes they were in the east. The team that comes out of the west is going to have a hard road ahead while some teams in the east might have only one or two tests before state. Abbott looks like the favorite but i wouldnt be surprised to see oakwood come out of the east either. Maybe even santa anna or gordon. But in the west every last team has a chance. I pick the east to win state because whoever wins the west will sure to be beaten up with a grueling schedule.

if they did not take the hits away from the defensive backs. and the threat of speed and size of the line backers teams without a balanced attack would not have had a chance. but the rules have been changed so much . ronnie lott could not play today with thes restrictions
