Six man records

This is something I'm wanting to eventually get added to the site, but I don't know of a place where they're currently compiled online. My first thought, when looking for a record, would be to message @Leman Saunders.
The top spot in the main categories are in the back of Dave Campbell's magazine. That is public school only

Here's a challenge for you. State championship single game records, like most rushing yards in a UIL championship game, most receptions in a TAPPS championship game, etc.
As soon as I have a way to get that info into the database, and display it, I'll get right on that. I love stats, and records, so I'm all about having as much info as possible.

Good luck on TAPPS. I've searched before....not sure they even keep those records.
It would probably come down to doing something like what Leman did here:
Basically, just have coaches/fans/players/etc submit records for consideration. Then we'd just try to verify everything submitted before adding them to the list.

Hey DB. I know Leman is the guru of records. So, this is not comprehensive. 2-3 days ago, someone from Gordon posted about being told if they beat Whiteface by X points, they would do even better than last year on points per game over the season, finding this possibility incredible.
Near the end of the 2018 season, I thought Strawn had the best defense that year I had ever seen. After the season I tallied up their points given up for the year (just re checked this) and came up with 118, which worked out to 7.87 ppg.
So, I looked up Gordon's scores for 2023. they gave up 136 points total, or 9.06 ppg.
Next, I checked Gordon's this year. 108 total points, 7.2 ppg. Hat's off to the Horns.
That may not be the record, just a WAG out of the blue, maybe one of the Fort Hancock 3peat teams. I've not looked at their scores.

This is just in the Championship era...1972-present
I have not looked up a lot of them but did see that 1939 Prairie Lea allowed just 6.44 ppg were Bi-District champs at 11-0 (9 games played, 2 forfeits)

There's a reason I called him the guru of records. I nailed Gordon's ppg the last two years but really screwed up on Strawn in 2018.
Math was never my strong point. I did alright until I got behind in logarithms and never caught back up.
I jotted down the points given up then just added them up in my head. When I saw Lemans chart I went back and re-checked. Thought, well you dummy you can't even add in your head anymore. I came up with 140 pts. vs 118, or 9.3 ppg. Still wrong per the chart. So, I went back to the list of scores I used to jot them down from. Double dummy. I left off Milford who Strawn gave up 46 to in 2018. 140 + 46 = 186 /15 = 12.4.
Oh well, it's still pretty darn good to have them tied for 12th, or both the 2017 & 2018 teams in the top 15 on a list going back 52 years, with two divisions the last several. Kind of surprised I didn't see Richland Spring in there anywhere.
