Here is a little thing I picked up the other day. You help decide if we should stop profiling on searches everywhere.

Some Americans have become so insulated from reality that they imagine America can suffer defeats without any inconvenience to themselves..

One that justifies profiling? Do you? So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners (TSA) are no
longer allowed to profile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, people in wheel-chairs, little kids, airline pilots with proper
identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former
Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone lest they be guilty of profiling.

As the writer of the award winning story 'Forrest Gump' so aptly put it, 'Stupid is as stupid does'.

I have several good friends who are officers in the military, all with 20+ years in active duty who are fed up and retiring when their current terms are up. To a man they are fed up with the PC attitudes over fighting a war that has only gotten infinitely worse in the last year. One is a colonel who has been told he will be getting his star as a brigadier if he stays in, but he has had enough. he has told me the Army is losing many long time Sargeants in combat units over these same rules of engagement.

I have not flown since the underwaer bomber tried to blow up the NW Airlines plane in Christmas Day, but I have heard from co-workers that the new rules are a major PITA. Refusal to profile in the name of not offending some numerically small minority group has to stop. We know who is at war with us, and it is way past time to make them feel the pain.
 
I think back to WW II. No, I did not fight back then as a matter of fact I was not even thought of then.

We are at war. Japan is our enemy. We look very closely at the Japenese in our country and I have read we locked them up. What was the end result???? We won the war.

Look through time at all the wars there has been. A lot of times the ones that were lost were infiltrated by their enemy. 60 years ago we profiled and it worked. Profilling has been done for 10s of thousands of years and has worked. Has war changed? Do you win by being a nice guy? I don't think so.

Political Correctness has gone to far. Our country is doomed if we do not step up and put a stop to all this BS. What would our forfathers think of the USA today? I feel they would be very ashamed that their ideas have been so corrupted. I watched a movie one day and the lead actor said "Is it our right to question our government? NO!! It is our DUTY to question our govenrment."

Our elected officials are put in office by US to serve US and do OUR bidding. If they do not do this they MUST be removed. In history in times like this when the people become dissatisfied with their elected officials their is a revolution. Look at our own history. What did England do to the colonies and what happened?

Getting out of the military? I agree 100% and if I was still in I would probably be looking to get out. I have read and heard about some of our soldiers in Iraq/Afganastan that are grouping together refusing to recognize Obama as their commander in chief. What is the next step? What happens when the military stops obeying the elected officials?

I love this country and have no desire to give up my citizenship. I will fight and die if necessary for the principals this country was founded on and I believe there are millions more that would do the same.

Is everyonje aware that when Texas joined the Union we insisted on an out? If we have a majority vote we can leave the Union and go back to being our own country. Try to take away a Texans guns and I can see that happening.

OK OK, I will get off my soapbox now.

It's also not very well known, but German and Italian Citizens were interned also. The main German civilian internment camp was in the Rio Grande valley.

Old Bearkat: Didn't St Lawrence come into being because German folks were looking for a less populated area to live in during one of World Wars? I had heard they were looking for a place where they wouldn't catch so much heat from the rest of the population, who weren't real happy with the German speaking population of the U.S. at that time.

I would make a lot of people mad if I were the president of either as my first order of business would be to get rid of crowded field football. LOL

If I ever ran for such an office there is so much that would be used against me. In 1993 0r 94 Clinton was in office. A friend and I went to DC to just have some fun. I chased pigeons and danced with the Hari Krishnas, a lot of fun. I was wearing a long sleeve shirt and pants when we got there and was getting to hot. I bought shorts and a t-shirt and changed clothes in the bushes in front of Congress. We finally got to the White House where I stood on the wall with the fence, faced outwards, raised my hands and started screaming REVOLUTION!!!! I know they have video of it. There was a whole crowd watching by the time I finished.

The day was full of fun and laughter UNTIL, we found the Vietnam Memoriel. We walked down to it and seen all the people crying and sitting there tracing names on the black stone, all the flowers and gifts sitting around. We sobered up real fast and it hit me, all the fun I had just had was givien to me by those men and women on that cold black stone and millions of others through the years.

We walked around for an hour talking my friend and I. We ended up at my car were we left DC and I have never been able to make it back. It is those freedoms I want to keep. The most powerful words ever written or spoken in the history of mankind are as follows:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

It brings tears to my eyes when I read those words, they are so powerful.

I have to admit I'm somewhat of a bigot when it comes to defending family and country, so doing whatever it takes without being evil(don't ask me to define that word) may be the best policy. I would even try waterboarding if I thought it would save just one child. My pawpaw said sometimes you have to fight fire with fire if you want to come out on top. Well, I wouldn't blow 'em up, but I might try wrapping a terrorist in pigskin... Gary Cooper found it very affective. :lol: Maybe we could take an idea from that monument to community organizing himself, Saul Alinsky and "do whatever it takes to win, then rewrite history."

On a lighter note...I wish a had a pilots license, with all this pc there's money to be made. I have a cousin who managers a small airport outside Rockwall. He says he's making more money now than he has in his entire life because people are hiring small, private planes to carry them all over the country, S. America and the Caribbean. Says he could use a dozen additional pilots 24/7.

I don't think so, as nearly all of the guys who started St. Lawrence were WW2 vets. Our nearest neighbor was in the Rangers and was one of the guys who climbed the cliffs on DDay to assault a German artillery position. They took advantage of the cheap loans for buying land for veterans and the old Slaughter ranch was being broken up and sold by the heirs. Most of them were 3rd generation or more Americans, and as a result were generally not bothered by anyone in WW2.

So the SixMan community should not be concerned with politics or religion or anything like that? We should only be concerned with 6-Man because of course our kids will play it for the rest of their lives just like all of us parents are still doing? Shoot, I made 3.7 mil last year playing 6-Man and I am 43 now.

There is so mcu more to life than HS football. There is a whole world outside that field. Do we have discussions like this during the season, YES!!! But they are not as often. Why are we having discussions like this on the off season?? Why not?? We are a community here and we like to share ideas with each other. Would it be better if we just discussed football on here? Let's see what we can discuss. I seen Coach Lee today driving in Strawn. Guess what? He ate a burger I heard. Hmmmm, that is so exciting and we will all enjoy it so much. Coach, just used you as an example, I have no idea what you ate. LOL

Ok you can say the kids read this board. Yes they do and I hope discussions like this teaches them a little something.

On another note. Just seen on the news where a republican got Kennedys old seat. His platform he ran on? I WILL stop the health care bill. They are saying democrats had better watch out or they might be replaced.

I always try to be polite. Some times I do not answer for several hours or days if I can be polite. Shoot, there are things I need to answer that are 30+ years old, still can not be polite about them. LOL

I don't know about the fatter & balder, but I'd guess you're 5-10 years older than me from reading your posts. I think I read some place where you said you played ball in the early '80's. I'm from the late '80's.

Where did you play? I am from Gordon, graduated in 1985 which makes me 43. IN HS I was 175 and could not gain a pound. Coach Campbell would list me at 220 and tell me I had to get there. I would sit down and eat three hamburgers in one sitting and nothing. Does not work that way any more. I thought about going on the Biggest Loser, I am a little over 300lbs. I get balder and balder everyday. At one time I said I would never get grey, I would be bald first. There is some grey now. LOL
