Sands is the Darkhorse from the depths of division 2. Those hoopers out there have figured out how to play some football, and they'll hang a hundred on those fools from Miami. Pony UP!

Speaking about Ponies, looks like we are gonna have recruiting battle Friday night with Zephyr and Richland Springs. Which team with the best transfers will win? Which team will catch the death penalty like SMU did in the 80s (hence my pony joke). It's not fiction, follow the last name. Burkhart at RS, recruiting violations. Little Burkhart goes to Zephyr, recruiting violations in the school. Not a coincidence.

Pops vs Jr in Bowie will be an all-time classic. How many times will we see them meet up at mid field belly bump each other then throw down and try to leg wrastle the other. About the only good thing that will come from that game.

On a real note I lost a lot of respect for the Administrators of Garden City... Don't have someone because the moved on from you, calling a coach names in front of kids and the communities isn't what the games about. Handle those differences off the field.

For the record, Coach Burkhart at Zephyr wasn't involved in the recruiting violation hearing at the UIL State Legislative committee meeting. Admittedly I was listening the meeting while doing other things, so I could have missed it but, as far as I know, he wasn't even named in the hearing. I didn't even know there was a coach Burkhart at Zephyr until it was brought up on this site talking about this week's game.

The disrespect for Fannindel is out of control. The falcons have not played a single game passed the 3rd quarter all season including the first round of playoffs. 16 teams left in the playoffs 45 Woodson and still lose 2 spots in the rankings. 11-0 and dropping to 22nd from 20th oakwood who is 6-5 and clearly overrated gets beat handily by THREEWAY as they have most of the year and threeway jumps from 22nd to 14th which they like us we’re clearly underrated. I don’t understand how this makes sense. I get the spread sheet and how the algorithm works but it doesn’t matter what you do all year it only matters about the game this week. They beat Eden by 45 when Eden was a 45 point favorite. Weak schedule or not 11-0 and the are the only unbeaten team outside the top 7. Ladonia has been east Texas power house since 2008 missing the playoffs 3 times in nearly 20 years. Not to mention they have Jamie Rigdon as their head coach. Give them a break.- Frustrated Fannindel alumni.

I'd agree, Fannindel is probably underrated, but how would The Toy know where y'all belong? Fannindel got a huge rating increase for beating Eden, and Fannindel's rating hasn't dropped in a single week all year long. Sometimes when you drop in the rankings it's not actually because your team's rating decreased, but because another team's rating increased more than yours.

Also, as I always say, use these spreads/rankings/words as fuel for the fire that makes sure your team comes out with a goal to prove it all wrong. No matter what the spreads say, no matter where you're ranked, and no matter what anyone says on these forums, the games will still be settled on the field. You want a higher ranking? Now's the time to go get it!

Miami is having a great year and so is Sands. I think it will be a pretty good game actually. The "fools" from Sands are pretty darn good football players. So are Miami's. I dont know how good Sands defense is, but it could be a high scoring game for sure.

If im being honest there aren't any dark horses. It comes down to Klondike and Jayton on who wins d2. No disrespect to the east, I just think those two teams are on a different level than anyone else in D2.

I understand the frustration for Fannindel fans. You're taking care of business, but have little to show for it in the rankings. You're the victim of your schedule, but that's getting ready to change. Beat Three Way and you will start to see that movement you have been denied. You keep winning after that and the "toy" will have you right up there with the big dogs. That's a tall order. Don't be too disappointed if you come up short.

Fannindel has been relatively successful as long as they played the local east Texas UIL and private schools but seldom beat any team west of the metroplex. They did beat Gordon in the 2020 playoffs, go figure. We need a full explanation on that mishap? Lol. Fannindel needs to beat a legitimate program other than Three Way to prove their metal. Beat the big boys if you can.

We’ve been a victim of coaching until this year. They’ve been undefeated several times our highest ranking ever was actually my senior year in 09. We got down to 8th with 3 losses to Duncanville Christ way (tapps) state champions Woodson (state runner up) and #6 leverets chapel since then we have had a lot of coaches and AD’s that have scheduled “local” opponents. Before savoy and Campbell started their football programs. it was nearly 2 hours to the nearest 6 man school. It’s more of a rant than a frustration. I want the people responsible to see their hard work pay off as well as the athletes and the alumni to have something to be proud of again.

I’m not a coach and with that said it does seem unAmerican that you can’t talk to a kid for 9 minutes. That is what got RS coach in trouble. One UIL board member said a nine minute phone call means you were recruiting. It prob does but I disagree with the rules. Put a portal system in place and let the kids have the power and not the schools. If a system doesn’t work for a kid let them go. Plain and simple.

The toy score is terrific. Lacks a value for a halftime speech, and adjustments and ultimately it lacks a way to value a kids heart. Go look at Newcastle 2023 (311) played Benjamin (366) to 24 points. That’s a closer game if Newcastle made their PAT’s. I’d give anyone a chance on a given game day.
