Can someone explain to me how an undefeated team be ranked behind 1 and 2 loss teams, win the state title and those that rank the teams not know how to rank a team?

I cant answer your question, but I feel the weaker teams from the West will move down, and the champ from the East will move up to the top.

The models will continue to crunch some numbers and new position ranks will emerge in a day or so I would imagine.

It was from the false premise that the west was stronger all around. As it turns out, Throckmorton was indeed the best team and I am sure that it will show on the final rankings. In fact, it should send a ripple down the rankings that is beneficial for all of the east teams, as they were dominated by NOT the #6 team, but the #1 team.
