Random thoughts.
Both State Champs come from Palo Pinto County in 2025.
Jayton only threat is Klondike. Some cities just can’t beat certain towns regardless of talent. Strawn with the addition of two players (I wasn’t 100 percent if two of the kids on the relay were on the football team last year. Maybe they were) and this has been a good group for Strawn for quite sometime and is senior heavy, returning everyone off a sprint relay that was a broke foot away from being State champions. I think with the loss of Jaytons most two physical players they could be in for an upset.
I don’t see anyone challenging Strawn in the East. Iredell lost kids to moving out. But Strawn has speed and obviously going to be physical.

Aquilla should be the best on the East D1 to get to semifinals. But Milford and St Joe look really talented and St Joe took a slew of kids to State Track. I’m taking St Joe out of that region.

D1 west. I’m going to go with Westbrook.
Turnovers and Defense will be fixed and I think they win close ones all the way through.
Water Valley, Whiteface, and BC will obviously be as good. But I just have a thinking that I like what Westbrook has back and will be there in the end.

I am thinking that WV and BC will play in the semifinals in the D1 west. Gordon is again the shoo-in the D1 east. Jayton is again the team to beat in D11, but could be beatable this year.

Only way Gordon gets beat is if Ry Reid gets hurt. Best athlete in the state this year.

Jayton will dominate D2

What are some early season match ups in the west D1 that could be comparable scores that could help determine how the West shapes up? Did those match ups last year hold true to those predictions?

Same thing with the East Region 3, are there matchups in schedule that could be used?

I noticed that Gordon plays Richland Springs and Strawn early season and could be used to see how RS and Strawn compare.

Is Motley County returning enough to give a scare in the West?

Looks like Garden City plays Robert Lee week 2. Rankin will play Westbrook week 3 and Borden County week 4. The last one that stands out is Water Valley vs Buena Vista week 4. I know it will be early in the season, but these games will help predict the strength of some teams.

Looks like Jonesboro plays at Aquilla week 5. Should be a good measuring stick for both teams.

I’m thinking of driving up to Priddy to see that Gordon vs RS game. Curious to see Richland springs this year after they’ve been beaten by Oglesby the last two years.

Crawford…… he is the best in the state at this level. The other Reed might not even be the 2nd best athlete on the field. Gordon is loaded with studs.

That was my fault. I posted the schedule to Facebook and forgot to make sure it was updated right here on the site. It's updated now. They'll play at Priddy on Thursday, August 28th.

You should've been at the all-star games in Wichita Falls if you like those warm weather games. Although, I guess that game might not be much different.

I read somewhere that Gordon has scheduled two games with 11-man schools this season? Can those games be listed on this website's Gordon schedule? Who will be coaching Richland Springs when they play Gordon?
