Playoff Sleepers

Well, the playoffs are finally here. Wanted to know who everyone has as a sleeper pick. I'll go with Rochelle. It seems they are underrated and have the potential to make a deep run.

Coyote King you are exactly right in promoting Rochelle as a sleeper team. Their ranking means absolutely zilch beyond that little list on this website. Most people have an understanding of football history and tradition...Rochelle is not there, therefore they are newcomers and it is up to them to prove they belong with the likes of Gordon, May, and Abbott. Forget the rankings, they are the obvious sleeper team in D-1 East.

D-1 West is challenging. I agree Sterling City has the best shot even though we all agree Tyler has made that team one not to overlook. They should be on everyone's radar. D-2 West?? I'm going with Buena Vista because Groom and Follett have been there done that so we will not be surprised if they make it to the last game. Balmorhea and Sands could be there too. If these West teams don't have a good rush defense against the Spread, Loraine could still make it.

Really, D-2 East East may not have a sleeper just because the caliber of the top three. Mt Calm might play RS in round two, then the winner of Jonesboro - Calvert. I'm changing my sleeper.
Before they lost I felt Motley County was a definite sleeper. So, now I have to say Guthrie is a good candidate. So I will change my pick to Guthrie. It could be Guthrie or Motley in the semi-finals.

I think it's a little tough for them to go out early. If those 4 were all in different regions, they might just all meet in the semis. But, I guess you gotta beat the best to be the best.

Rochelle's Ranking means nothing, because I have read several post on this sight where nobody's is picking the hornets to beat lower ranked May,Gordon, zephyr or blum.....But that's why we play the games right?

That is very true tx6man, the rankings mean absolutely nada. But what happens on the field means everything. As an eyewitness to the scrimmage, I will testify to the fact that the Hornets ate the Tigers for lunch at that meeting. The Tigers may have improved some, but so have the Hornets. There is no doubt in my mind about the results of another meeting. No brag, just fact.

Sterling City. I know they are 9-1 and ranked high. But that West is stacked and they aren't a favorite.
They aren't a favorite for a reason, coyote_king. They'll crush Rankin and then be obliterated by Crowell in the second round. Sorry bro, that's just the way it's going down. Still, 10-2 is not bad and things are definitely looking up in Sterling City.

Similar to the Throck WV game a couple years back? I am hoping they play Crowell. That'll be a good measuring stick as to where this group of kids is at.

Let's hope Sterling City plays a better game than the WV did against T-Rock that year in Early. We scored first and it was all downhill from there. Kind of like last year against Crowell. At least both opponents went on to win state so, you know, we had that going for us.
