Give us a hint?
What names were supposed to jump out at us?

Bill Buchanan
was one of the directors of CTU on
the JackBauer show.
Was that it?

I will post one more photograph from a regional champion in the 1950s....you can only pick one...most votes wins:
Trinidad, Sterling City, Paint Creek, Miles, Elysian Fields, Copperas Cove (that's not a typo), Union, Hampshire, Nueces Canyon, Gunter, Friendswood, Roaring Springs, China, Norton, Northside

Out of all those only 3 of them still play 6-man ( 4 if you count Union as Wellman-Union)

But which Union is it? Is it what we locally refer to as Union/Terry? The one North of Welch in Terry County? Or was it what we call Union/Dawson? The one west of Lamesa?

Wow... 1931/34 would have been my uncle in the picture and 39/41 would have been my dad.

I got the document as a TIF file, but I'm not smart enough to know how to post it. If someone wants it, send me a PM with an email address and I'll send it to you ... as long as you post it back here.

Open it in your photo program and then "save as" and select jpeg format. Then you can upload it like a picture.

This one is an interesting one I found...only information is it's from 1938 and was archived at National Archives Records Administration in 1947 by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Standing Rock Agency, captioned "Six-Man Football Squad from Camp 166" (I found this image on the internet).

At one point I remember seeing a 1940s Navy team photo for a six-man football team...can't remember much about that one or find it any more...but I believe I've read that the navy used six-man football as an activity in WWII

2 of em better be zebras or I'm throwing a flag...
Two things came to mind.
1.Camp 166 is a camp trying to teach them to count.
2.That's what the defense sees when they've been drinking too much firewater.

I welcome anyone who knows where camp 166 was located and what tribe(s) it facilitated...to please fill me in! I've been trying to find out for sure with no luck.

Posting this for Lifegate:

If I remember right, this was from a book that covered the first 10 years or so of Wimberley 11 man football in the mid 90's.
