I'm working on a new cure all. I'll send y'all some samples soon.
I've found that a shooter with half Tabasco, half fireball whiskey will cure most of what ails ya!

It cures you by making you scared to be sick? If you get sick you might have to have another one?

Rj, how is your mom doing?

She's doing much much better than she was a week ago. They finally decided it was viral pneumonia, but then they determined she had a heart attack somewhere along the way. So she has some pretty extensive lung damage, plus some heart damage. I spoke with my sister this morning, and she said they will be trying to get mom out of the CCU and into a regular room today or tomorrow.

I think it'll be a while before she can go back home. Which is not good news, but way better than making funeral arrangements.

It grows on ya..... real good for cold days to warm ya up. Also good for a sore throat, cause it burns the sore right off. And then there's the fact that it will destroy any little bacteria critters it comes in contact with on the way down. Good stuff.

My wife made me drink some sort of witches brew made with cayenne pepper and apple cider vinegar. It's not that bad. Burns like fire if your throat is raw.

Glad to hear that she's doing better. Still praying for you all.

They moved my mom out of CCU on Sunday, which was a very good thing. Seemed like she was on the fast track to getting her PT finished up and going home.

Then yesterday morning she became very fatigued and was exhausted just trying to breathe, so the doctors moved her back into CCU around noon yesterday. They drew some blood, and found that her lactic acid was about double high end of the normal range.

Given her extreme fatigue and the lactic acid levels, I thought she had gone septic. Everyone did. There was about 3 hours yesterday where I was seriously thinking about funeral arrangements.

The doctors ran another test and found that mom had a leakage from her throat (esophagus) into her lungs, such that it was severely irritating the pneumonia. They mainlined massive amounts of antibiotics and by bedtime last night her lactic acid was back down in the normal range and she was able to breath and converse.

I talked to my dad this morning, and you could hear mom in the background telling him what to tell me.

Long tiring story short, she did not develop full blown sepsis. The doctors found the problem, and now mom should be back on the road to getting the heck out of Odessa.

I sincerely appreciate the prayers and the thoughts for my mom.
