My Own Top 25

Miami no.11 which who lost to follet and you don't even have follet ranked for D2.

If I only did the Top 10 for both, this would be a non-issue. If you want my honest opinion, I would be very curious who is ahead in the DI versus DII head-to-head matchups. I would be very hard pressed to pick against any of the Top 10 in DII. Being #11 in DI may not be as difficult as being #11 in DII. You're comparing the ranking of a DI team against a ranking of a DII school, which is apples to oranges. Too different divisions. That doesn't mean the 20th best team in DII couldn't beat the 10th best team in DI. But beating a tope ten ten in DI doesn't mean they're better than the teams ranked ahead of them in DII.

Technically you are right. However, it was only last year that Follett was in Division I and this year have played several Division I teams (Throck, Valley, Meadow, Crowell, and Miami) and held their own only losing to them by 5-10 points (with the exception of Throck who 45'd them and Miami who they beat). The Meadow, Valley, and Crowell games were very close and could have easily gone Follett's way. Two different divisions but they play the same football on the field. Just saying.

coachsatcher, you do realize that May your #17 lost to Santa Anna your #19 by 22 and Santa Anna lost to Rochelle your #20 by 30....doesnt make much sense!

Everyone needs to understand that Rankings are just opinions! No matter whether you use a computer to rank a team, it is still an opinion. Someone has to put the (opinion) information into the computer. For instance, how can Rotan 0-7 still be ranked as high as they are? Yes I understand strength of schedule, but who rank them that high in the first place? Savoy 7-0 and ranked very low? Both are new to 6-man this year, so there is no true base to start with. So, I say that rankings are made by opinions and that's my opinion and I am sticking to it!

So your concern is over three places in the rankings?? Really??? I guess I will put more emphasis in head-to-head match ups, rather than record. With your logic, if the #1 team who was 9-0, loses to an 0-9 team, does that mean the now 1-9 team becomes a higher ranked team than the now 9-1? Just curious.

I guess to make it simple, tell me who is in the Top 10, in DII, that you believe Follett should be ranked in front of and why. If there is someone in the Top 10 who was 45'd by Miami, then I will look into it. However, Miami's ranking has no correlation to Follett's. Two different divisions.

This will make it better for a few.

Top 10 DI
1 Water Valley
2 Ira
3 Valley
4 Throckmorton
5 Borden County
6 Rankin
7 Petersburg
8 Abbott
9 Crowell
10 Zephyr

No idea what your angry about...just stating that in the last 2 weeks that May lost to Santa Anna and Rochelle beat Santa Anna....so any logical person with semi average intelligence would understand that their is no way you could rank a team that lost last week over the team that beat them. But you want to talk about records...May your #17 is 5-2 and Santa Anna your #19 and Rochelle your #20 the team that just beat them by 30 are both 7-1...so even by your logic you are wrong. Just sayin....

Oh and yea head to head should get more emphasis...what the heck...I understand if it was week 0 loss and by week 8 a team got better...but this happened last week!!!

It's your rankings and you can rank them how you like, but for the record all three of these teams are in the same district and Rochelle plays May Friday night so stay tuned.
Current standings are:
Rochelle (7-1,2-0) District wins over Lometa and Santa Anna
Santa Anna (7-1,1-1) District win over May, loss to Rochelle
May (5-2,0-1) District loss to Santa Anna
Truthhurts04's logic is sound to me.

I'm really not the one making a big deal about it ....I was just throwing my opinion in because I can. The rankings at the end of the year are what will matter. Interesting how everyone gets their top ten. Something I wouldn't do....too much criticism. Have a great year!!

It is just your opinon just because someone lost to someone does not mean they should be lower ranked then them. Alot of these teams im sure Coach Satcher hasnt even seen film over or heard about them.

Not angry by any means. I was PM'd and asked to do a ranking of my own and oblidged, knowing it would be critiqued. Tried and obviously missed one team by three spots. I agree I have May out of order and should be behind Rochelle and Santa Anna; just didn't think it was a big enough deal to change mid-week. If I came off angry, I apologize, I just figured with all the mistakes on the rankings out there, to quabble over one team was petty; but will remedy on my next ranking.

Umm...yes, I realize this....lol. If you look back at the thread, someone else actually brought up the "ranking" issue, I just wanted to comment on who they had played that is ranked. Doesn't matter to me..... :)

If there was a 'like" button I would hit it. And you're right. Some of the school on this list I don't even know what part of Texas they're in.

I'm not upset, but could really use help if you know something I'm missing. Jonesboro, Richland Springs, Milford and Trinidad are the only teams, ranked high in DII, that I've actually seen. The others; I have no clue. I just wanted a ranking with no 0-6 or 1-7 teams listed. After that, I'm open to suggestions; as long as they don't over step their boundries and get personal.

I admire someone who would put it all out there knowing there will be people that will challenge him. It is interesting reading everyone's opinion and I enjoy these boards. I don't have any inside knowledge......I do think Groom is ranked too high having seen them play. Motley County perhaps. But again, I haven't seen any of the teams in the lower part of the state play. Will be fun to see how it all plays out on the fields.

Have you seen Balmorhea or Jayton? They would be my next two to jump inside the top 10, but have never seen them or Groom. Motley is probably a little high, as I may have been caught up in their name. Let me know if you have seen anyone who should bump Groom.
