My Own Top 25

After debating it for seven weeks, I finally decided to try my own. I didn't have time to do the other divisions, but wanted to get one posted. Just couldn't watch any more 1-5 or 0-6 teams be in the Top 20 any longer. Enjoy and feel free to critque. I didn't add Buckholts on purpose, because I didn't want to hear the "homer" call. However, I'm still not sure how much better Ropes, Gordon and Sterling City are at 4-3 than Buckholt's 4-3; so I respectfully withdrew them from the debate.

1 Water Valley 7-0
2 Ira 7-0
3 Petersburg 7-0
4 Throckmorton 6-1
5 Valley 6-1
6 Borden County 5-2
7 Rankin 5-1
8 Abbott 5-2
9 Crowell 4-2
10 Meadow 6-1
11 Zephyr 4-2
12 Miami 6-1
13 Oakwood 3-2
14 Ropes 4-3
15 Spur 4-2
16 Grady 5-2
17 Santa Anna 7-0
18 Klondike 5-2
19 Gordon 4-3
20 Sterling City 4-3
21 May 5-2
22 Highland 5-2
23 Rochelle 6-1
24 Coolidge 4-2
25 Avalon 5-2

This made me laugh just because Avalon is on the top 25! FYI they just played a JV for their homecoming in which the team scored a season high against them! I might laugh on this all night!

They also have wins over Penelope and Mt. Calm. I don't mind removing them, but give a solution or a replacement. Don't just complain and then leave.

Heck coach, if you believe Buckholts is deserving and belongs in the Top 25 you ought to just go ahead and put them there. People around here are gonna' chew you up anyway so you might as well rank 'em where you see 'em. It's all in good fun anyway... right? I mean, why else would anyone want to subject themselves to the abuse. :-)

Wow....You may wanna try this allll over again.....You dont even have Milford in this debate they have beaten 4 of the teams you have listed..... But I will consider the fact that this is all in funnnnn.... I think?.......

But that's my problem; I don't know if they're deserving. Buckholts played Jonesboro, Tomball and Calvert really well; but we still lost. Moral victories are over-rated. The only quality win we have is over Bastrop Tribe. I don't know half of the teams in the top 25, but was aggravated seing an 0-6 team and a 1-5 team in the top 20. I don't mind the abuse at all; I just wish if someone saw something they don't like, give an alternative solution and back it up. I'm brand new to 6-man. I've seen tons of film, but haven't seen near enough to tell the difference between the top three teams or the top ten for that matter. I love rankings and I would love to change this one; if someone sees something out of whack. This is how the Coach's poll should be done in college anyway. Talk about it and give them what they deserve. All in good fun.

Polls are nice to look at, and can give an indication of a strong team.
But it is much better to get out and go watch a game! Some of those 0-6 and 1-5 teams will surprise the loftier rated teams. Just ask Guthrie(0-6) and Silverton(6-0) this week!

Did you see any scores from Friday night. Valley missed an extra point in the third quarter that would have 45ed Pete. Went on to win by 35.

I saw that and was shocked. It's updated on the previous page and appreciate the heads up. I had it on paper, but missed it when typing. Thanks again.

Haven't missed a Friday night in 17 years and seen enough film to know the difference. I agree an 0-6 team can suprise a 6-0; but rankings is as much about your past as it is your present. Silverton will pay in the polls, but more importantly, they have a loss. However, it's your exact point of why I stress the teams with the record should be rewarded. If any team can win, than a team who is undefeated should be rewarded; regardless their schedule. If any team can beat them, they should be rewarded for not allowing it to happen.
