That is a huge part of it dogface.
Gordon
2009
1) New coach.
2) New system
3) Very few upper classmen, even fewer with experience.
4) Very tough schedule. Just guessing but probably top 10 SOS.
2011
1) Experience. Players have been on varsity since 2009.
2) Drive. They got tired of losing.
3) Support. The town has rallied around the team.
4) Confidence. They realized they were good as a team.
5) Teamwork. Not one of them is as concerned with his own stats or glory as he is with that of his team.
We are Gordon. It's more than just a phrase. It is the understanding that we all have a part in the success of our kids. We are all one family, one town, ONE TEAM. We treat every kid as if he or she was our own. And that includes keeping an eye on them off the field too. A win by the varsity, jv, jh, pee wee is a win for us all, same for a loss. We have 1 or 2 superstars, yet we have no "superstars". Overall, I would say we are the most improved town. WE ARE GORDON!!!
