Justice

As I never found a link I could get to work I was just wondering if anybody else saw this story or the guy's picture. A 24 year old convicted felon on Chicago's South side asked a guy in a parked car for a light for his cigarette. Guy in car didn't smoke/no light. Punk pulls gun, wants his money instead, plus get out of the car. Guy get's out, gun pointed at him, thought he was about to get shot. Punk looks off, guy grabs gun arm - as hed been trained to do to disarm an assailant, twists arm/gun downward, punk get's shot in foot. Guy is a 6'2" 240 # MMA fighter & proceeds to beat the crap out of punks face, 2 black eyes, multiple red/black/blue contusions all over his face. Fighter holds down punk until police arrive while punk begs, please, I've got a kid.

Actually,
the only way to prevent this
from ever happening to anyone else,
(who may not be so capable)
is to have shot and killed the bad guy.

So,
was justice really served??

True, and, not completely. But it's nice to see the bad guy get some of what's coming to him now and then, especially as a suprise, on the street. He is back in jail at least for a while, humiliated among his peer's. And, in today's society, if the fighter had got the gun pointed to a more terminal spot, he might be in jail unfortunately if there were no witnesse's. Sad to say.

By the time bad guys graduate
to pointing guns at people,
it's over.
When they get out of jail they
WILL
do it to someone else.
Maybe your wife.
Or mine.
There is only
one
solution for that kind of criminal.

A tall tree and a short rope?

How would you get a short rope
over the limb of a tall tree?
I've seen your arms.
I'm jus sayin'

Actually,
I was thinking opportunistically.
When a bad guy tries something
with someone capable of making sure he never does it again
then it's that persons responsibility to make sure he doesn't.

The decision must be made long in advance of the actual crime.

That's why everyone should be trained to handle guns and/or knives. And remember this - if you pull it, use it.

Wouldn't that kinda be one of those Mutually Assured Destruction things?
