It's pretty easy to be a playoff team in 11 man when they take four teams out of a five team district.Thorndale is good...will be a playoff team and probably win a game or two in the playoffs is my guess

Thank you for clarifying what I already knew. I would just like to see them compete against the best cause I believe they would do wellLook Homelander, a coach doesn’t just say, “Hey, I think I will play Thorndale in week four!” “Or Mason, or Llano.” Both teams have to need a game, and both have to agree. And when a team is successful and strong, teams drop you like a hot potato. Everyone is looking for a possible W. You will fill your schedule with just about anyone who will agree to play.
If they transfer to 11man just make sure it’s the number 1 or 2 team in the stateGordon is a solid team but it’s just stupid for an 11 man team to play them.
You lose and your team sufffers a demoralizing defeat. Win, and who cares…you beat a six man school (even if they play an 11 man game)
If any of the boys at Gordon plan on playing at the next level they’d be better off to transfer to a 11 man school (easy to do under the UIL rules) like Ridgon did and play there instead of trying to build or pad their experience in a gimmick game.
Lemon, how far do you think Gordan would make it in the fake 11 man playoffs if Mike Reid never got caught recruiting? Asking for a friend!
I can see where some 11-man schools see playing Gordon is just a trap game for them. They have nothing to gain in winning while Gordon looks like a world beater if Gordon wins. It's similar to UT playing UTEP or Sam Houston, losing can be catastrophic. Michigan or Texas A & M playing and losing to Appalachian State is a good example. Underdogs can bite.I heard from a friend that some of the 11-man schools close to Gordon said no way!!!
It could appear lose lose on the surface but Gordon has athletes a team like Thorndale probably won't see until the playoffs. Thorndale gained more than you might think. The score gets you pride points but the adversity both teams faced can make them both stronger. I would argue it is NOTHING like UT playing a junior high team, I mean Sam Houston. UT has a top talent level and should beat everyone by 55. Looking at talent and success alone, no one in their right mind would have had Gordon as a dog to Thorndale. Enrollment levels don't win games, talent does.I can see where some 11-man schools see playing Gordon is just a trap game for them. And try and find a team with 2 other solid D1 commits. If they transfer to 11man just make sure it’s the number 1 or 2 team in the state
They are suppose to have 3.And try and find a team with 2 other solid D1 commits.
Ry Reed getting there as a freshman would probably be viewed as recruitingWesp!!!! Every player on Gordon's Varsity has been at Gordon all the way through HS. Majority much longer. Who are you referring to?
And that would be crazy lol, just my opinion but recruiting would be a much larger scale than 1 kid coming in. If That is recruiting then most schools are guilty.Ry Reed getting there as a freshman would probably be viewed as recruiting
I agree but that one is a pretty significant oneAnd that would be crazy lol, just my opinion but recruiting would be a much larger scale than 1 kid coming in. If That is recruiting then most schools are guilty.
By who? The dad was hired to coach basketball and he is a top basketball coach right? Quit grasping at straws. Coaches come and go and coaches usually have coached up good kids. Wesp is a vehicle to drum up clicks on this site. Nothing more, nothing less and will post anything under the sun that will get people wound up. I enjoy it for what it is, satire!Ry Reed getting there as a freshman would probably be viewed as recruiting
