I do think that particular shirt make's Pete look a whole lot better than the other shirt pictures.
You oughta have a (different) nurse settin in your lap for every picture. They'd all look a lot purtier. There's a thought for the future.
 
About the poutices, I forgot, I've read a madstone is the best. Soak the poison out right quick. You know, a hairball cut out of a deer stomach - Big Medicine with the Comanche.

It might help but I don't think it would be as effective as the deerball.
The deerball would be bigger and soak up more posion.
So I guess a bear ball or a bull ball would be held in even higher esteem?
How did we get on the subject of mountain oysters?
I've only had them fried, are they good for your health?

I have thrown the morsels on the edge of a branding fire. When they split open after cooking a while, just put a little salt & pepper on and enjoy. I prefer lamb Frys to calf, they have a more delicate flavor

Smokey knows of what he talks... cutting cattle... keep the irons hot and the skillet cooking. Only had lamb fries twice. Didn't fix-em only enjoyed em. They are infinitely better than calf fries
 
We cut 500 yearling one time and saved only the largest, choicest morsels, we wound up with 3 - 5 gallon buckets. big party...........
We used to work a lot of lambs. They're usually bigger and you can filet them.
Ya'll ever try turkey fries? Really rich, you can make yourself sick on em if you're not careful.....
In case you're wondering, a lot of my relatives/ancestors were of German descent. They used to say those oldtimers ate everything but the squeal............
 
Bravest person I can think of is the first person to eat an egg............ Think about it. You see something white drop out of a chicken's butt and think,"Hmmmmm, that looks good. Think I'll eat it...."
