final scores vs reality

I was thinking as I watched my sons team loose, which has been a new experience, that the final scores don't represent the true nature of the game. We need to know that when the winning team goes up they put the second team in, and the loosing team has a better chance to score. Yeah, brilliant statement, but it's something that is forgotten when your playing or looking at the scores. For example, Dallas vs Throck, the final was Throck by 20, which means they probably could have 45d Dallas if they wanted to not play there 2nds and give them experience. But I think wow Dallas hung, they must be really good (they are really good BTW). So a 20-30 point loss could be as much of a beating as a 45 depending on the coach.
