Coachiing Contract

I have heard that the state is recommending to all schools to hold off on contracts until may. Not really sure why.

You're right. It was recommended, but not to all schools. Some schools have working budgets that are in the black and have the flexibility to make financial decisions. However, those who are working in the red or close to it, have to make sure their contracts won't exceed their means; thus were asked to wait until something comes out from legislature.

I heard about the contract and am so happy they got you under contract for the long term. I feel so much more comfortable about my child's future. He'll only be an 8th grader next season, but now Buckholts has so much to look forward to and now we have something to look forward to. Thanks for restoring Badger Pride!

question ???
when a school offers a contract to a teacher and/or coach is the person bound if they accept it or can they still go out and see whats out on the open market?

Some of our public school teachers on board can correct me on this (my wife teaches public school). I understand you can sign your current contract at your school, but you can be asked to be released from it if you decide to accept another position. There may be a time frame where that becomes more difficult (I think sometime after the end of June), but the school district can release you from your agreement without penalty.

I know there was one of my wife's math supervisors who was offered a promotion in another district a couple weeks before school started and her district did release her from her contract, but they only do late releases if there is a promotion involved.
