Bowl Season

Taking a great player out of the game always hurts, but OU is deep in that position. He got hurt on the opening kickoff of the Big 12 championship game and did not play at all. I know playing Florida is a lot different than playing Missouri. He is a big play guy, but it's not the worst position to lose a player, because of their depth. I'm more concerned about the MLB position. They lost Ryan Reynolds in the Texas game, took about 4 weeks to get the 2nd guy playing well, then lost him in the OSU game.

Agreed, losing Reynolds was huge. McCoy was able to pick apart the middle after he went out. I'm sure Tebow will attempt to do the same thing. The difference is that OU has a lot of time to prepare for that. When UT played USC in the championship it was pretty obvious that the coaching staff for UT was better prepared for the game. A young man I had coached was a walk on LB for UT. He told some of the Angelo people who were in LA for the game that they knew exactly what USC was going to do. I believe that the OU and UT staffs are some of the best staffs in the nation. It's one of the differences in the system from one with a playoff format. Both teams have so much time to prepare. The key is keeping your players focused. Time will tell. Before you bring up Boise I'm pretty sure that very few teams would have stopped two perfectly run trick plays like that.
