Bowl Season

Bradford has made plenty of plays on the ground this season. He just doesnt look to run when the opportunity arrives. His offensive line is one of the best in the nation and he does not have to scramble much. He picks defenses apart with his amazing accuracy and precision. How can you say he is not a great leader? Just cause he doesnt run into the kick team huddle and scream at them doesn't mean he isn't a leader.
Bob Stoops, Mack Brown and every other coach agreed upon the system used before the season began. Stoops never once said that he liked the system, he just said that it was what they all decided and this is how it plays out.
That all being said, I hope Texas DESTROYS Ohio State. Go Big XII!!

AND another thing, so is Tom Brady average now? I despise the guy but you cannot deny the fact that he is a great quarterback. He has faced pressure more than twice in his career

I think these are the good games,

TCU vs. Boise State
Hawaii vs. Notre Dame
Penn State vs. USC
Texas Tech vs. Mississippi
Alabama vs. Utah
Ohio State vs. Texas
Florida vs. Oklahoma

I never said that Bradford wasn't a leader he just doesn't put the team on his back like Tebow and McCoy do. And yes he picks apart defenses with blinding accuracy, but having one of the best lines in college football allows him to do that. Do you think he would be as accurate with a second or two to throw instead of five? And I will say that he also has a great running game that takes pressure off him, Tebow has Harvin and Demps but McCoy is the running game most of the time. Bradford will make the better pro quarterback than the other two in my opinion, but who led the nation in completion percentage at 78%? Although I want a local kid to win the Heisman, it wouldn't be bad if Bradford or Tebow won it either. I'd be willing to bet that Brady won't ever be the same as before, due to missing a whole year of game experience. I wouldn't be suprised if he either retires or plays under another flag in a few years. But just my opinion.

One of the things that has been brought up is who would be hurt the most if they lost their QB. Obviously all the teams mentioned would suffer with out their team leader but I think UT would be hurt the most. I'm rooting for McCoy for obvious reasons but I think he is a great kid also. I know it's not about who is the nicest person but if it was then McCoy and Tebow would have to be at the top. Of course they are at the top and that is what makes this even more interesting. Earlier in the year Tebow said he was thinking about voting for McCoy. It will be interesting to see who he votes for.

As much as I hate it I will root for Texas against ohio state. I bleed red and black and for the most part it is hard to disagree that Mac Brown is one of, if not the most distinguished coach out there. He, unlike Stoops isn't into blowing folks out and running up the score when it was very possible to do so.....ex. UT vs. ATM. He's hard to not like because of his sportsmanship.

Now on another note......Wreck'em Tech and Hook'em Horns! OU can go to hell! 8)

I was hoping for a Texas v Bama BCS Bowl game, that way we would have had 2 BCS bowl games that were Big 12 v SEC the 2 best confrences this year...but that didn't happen.

What I would have done if I was Texas and Bama would be...before the BCS made their game match-ups I would have sat down with reps from the other school (Texas - Bama) and tried to come to this agrement..."Look if the BCS doesn't put us in a bowl game, if we both want to play each other, lets turn down their BCS bowl offers and cut a deal to play in the Cotton Bowl. This would cause such a contraversy that the Cotton Bowl would over shadow the Championship game, 2 power house top rated schools basically telling the BCS "F YOU". The publicity would be like no other, the people running the Cotton Bowl would get HUGE exposure and help them in a push to get a BCS bowl game in the future. True the 2 schools might not get the same amount of money as they would by playing in the BCS game but they would get a lot more in publicity and exposure.

Then you could have got a Texas Tech v Bosie State as your other BCS game...and that would be a GREAT match-up!!! To bad they aren't playing each other in a bowl game!!!

To bad this didn't happen...would have been Great for some of these big schools to Screw the BCS for a change.

Yeah, because Texas and Alabama don't get enough exposure and publicity and exposure already...

BCS money is too good to pass up. High School football is a sport; college football is a business.

I'll agree that Mack seems like a good sportsman, but one can make the arguement that Stoops is better in that arena than Leach.

Stoops ran up the score on the Raiders because he needed a signature win against a very good team to jump up the rankings in the BCS. Leach runs up the score whenever he can, and he dares people to stop him. I personally think he wanted to run up numbers for the possibility of Harrell or Crabtree winning a Heisman, but that is beside the point.

It must be difficult to see your own coach as a "bad sportsman" through all that red and black blood.

Very true they do get a lot of exposure already, but the hype and media blitz that would happen if they would have done this would have been unmatched!!!

Plus both these schools and programs are also very well off as far as money goes so I think it would have been worth it by taking less money and playing the Cotton Bowl (plus the cotton Bowl might have upped what the teams would get if they did this because of the exposure for the Cotton Bowl)

Damn right it is! 8)

How can you say that Stoops is a bad sportsman?
All he did was get the necessary style points needed to move to number two.
He cant help it if his third string running back is still running all over people in the fourth quarter

Here is a list of teams not playing in a bowl this year. The unlucky 51, in alphabetical order: Akron, Arizona State, Arkansas, Arkansas State, Army, Auburn, Baylor, Bowling Green, Colorado, Duke, Eastern Michigan, Florida International, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kent State, Louisiana- Lafayette, Louisiana- Monroe, Louisville, Marshal l, Miami ( Ohio), Michigan, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi State, New Mexico, New Mexico State, North Texas, Ohio, Purdue, SMU, San Diego State, San Jose State, Stanford, Syracuse, Temple, Tennessee, Texas A& M, Toledo, Tulane, UAB, UCF, UCLA, UNLV, UTEP, Utah State, Virginia, Washington, Washington State and Wyoming. Arkansas State, Bowling Green, LouisianaLafayette and San Jose State are the only bowl eligble teams left out. The list of teams playing is longer with 68.

I don't think Stoops is a 'bad sport" but he did go after "style points" the last few weeks of the season. You say third string running back I say first string offensive line, any running back could have decent numbers behind a line that good against a defense that weak. Oklahoma won't be able to run all over Florida, but they have to try. Both Florida and Oklahoma are balanced teams on offense and it is amazing that as much emphasis is put on throwing the ball around, whoever can run the football and stop the run will win the game. Oh this is hard to say but BOOMER SOONER!

Wow, was a shock. Dont they usually invite atleast 4 players? He should finish 4th in the voting. Dont really agree with Leach saying it was politics over performance but guess he was just defending his player.....I would love to see Colt win it, but dont think it will happen. My 2nd choice would be Tebow, but dont know if the previous winners want a Back-to-back winner. I just hope Bradford does not get it, think he is another Jason White, product of the system. If he does get it, then hope he performs like White did in the Championship game.

My choices: 1. McCoy-Texas is hurt the most without him. Great leader
2. Tebow-Great player who knows how to win.
3. Bradford-Big time arm has shown mobility when necessary.

Here is some information on Stoop's "style points" throughout the season:

Fourth quarter scoring:

UT Chatty 0
OU 0

Cincy 6
OU 10

UW 7
OU 7

TCU 7
OU 0

BU 0
OU 7

UT 15
OU 7

KU 7
OU 7

KSU 0
OU 3

NU 7
OU 0

A&M 7
OU 0

TT 7
OU 7

OSU 15
OU 24

MU: 7
OU 21

Opponents 85
Sooners 93

OU averages 54 points a game, and averages 7 in the fourth quarter. But yeah, Bradford is in throwing until the final gun.

Trojanruler, VERY odd. Is this a weakness to aim for, or was every game so out of reach that Stoops rallied the third teamers along with the male cheerleaders the entire fourth quarter?

We all remember that blueturf team from potatoland.
