The biggest surprise for me is how bad The Toy is doing in the pick 'em. After last year being in the top 25, this year it's currently sitting at #61. More than that, though, is how well it's doing in points amongst other folks with the same record, and even some of those with a better record. Last year the point spreads killed it. This year its average point spread is 13.6. I'll take that all day...now it just needs to start picking the right winners.
Well, in another surprise turnaround, The Toy has creeped its way back into the top 25. With 2 games to go, the worse it could finish is 43rd. If it gets at least one game right, the worst it can finish is #31. Not ideal, but I'll take it. For a computer program, with as many teams as it has to rank and as many factors it simply can't account for, finishing better than over half the folks on this site is pretty darn good imo! It's far from perfect, but I like it!
