Dayton Eddleman 2014 Sands
306 att, 210 completions, 2692 yards, 44 tds
How many INTs for Eddleman?

Tyler Ethridge was definitely one of the best of all time in my opinion. Does anyone know his INTs?

I think Leman is your best source. He has already compiled all of this information. He has been our unofficial "official stats guy" for a couple of years now. When we get stats, we send them to him. He puts them on the list. I'm pretty sure he is watching this thread closely so that he can see if someone posts some info that he doesn't already have.

Stats are just so hard in six man because you are not going to get them all. There are going to be teams that you get info on, but is unreliable. There are going to be teams that you get no info on. There are going to be a few that you get info on that is reliable. I worked on stats for a long time, till I pulled all of my hair out. Now that it has grown back, I let the professionals do it.

Good luck, I look forward to seeing your final product.

These stats don't mean much without the number of quarters played. It is like comparing apples and oranges. Strength of schedule also plays a factor. Completions against a weak defense are not real good indicators.
As far as talent and ability,if you are talking pure passers, there are two that come to mind but no stats. Mid 90's, Craig Steele of Sidney; early 90's Jacody Sealy of Richland Springs.

Sidney 1996, Steele's Sr year.
ACHS 6-2
Rochelle 4-5
Richland Springs 4-6
Loraine 3-6
Cherokee 6-5
Zephyr 10-2
Mullin 4-6
Blanket 2-7
Brookesmith 7-3
Cherokee 6-5
(Also won a forfeit against Star for an overall 9-2 record)
So according to your statement, most of his completions were against a weak defense, it is not a good indicator. So how do you conclude that Steele was a pure passer?

Lyle Campbell, Sr., Gordon, 1999, 14 games, 119-182-2437--38TD's - 1 INT
Lyle Campbell, Jr., Gordon, 1998, 13 games, 91-140-1937--37TD's - 2 INT
Michael Cherry, Sr., Gordon, 2012, 14 games, 68-103-1084--17TD's - 1 INT
Emory Allen, Sr., Gordon, 2012, 12 games, 74-120-1352--22Td's - 2 INT

Lyle Campbell, Career, Gordon, 1996-1999, 260-404-5123--94TD's - 5INT

These are all verified stats.

RS was better than their record indicates in 1996
There are a lot of teams that are better or worse than their record indicates, every year. A teams record is not always an indicator of how good they are. I've made that point before, see almost any "ranking complaint" thread. My point is, that if you are going to make a blanket statement that "Completions against a weak defense are not real good indicators." Then maybe your first example shouldn't be a guy who made most of his completions against weak defenses. RS being better than their record indicates doesn't change that, they played 10 games. 2 or 3 were against quality teams, and that's if I give you RS.

Shad this is what I have for Jim...if you can help fill the holes I have that would be GREAT! Again dont have INTs thrown

Jim Kostiha – Gordon
1993:
1994: 52-94-1065 15 TDs passing; 13-144 yards receiving; 6-75 yards rushing; 102 tackles, 3 fumbles recovered
1995: 73-138-1391 26 TDs passing; 9-115 1 TD receiving; 20-200 1 TD rushing; 173 tackles, 6 caused fumbles, 2 recovered fumbles, 2 INTs
1996: 57-93-956 21 TDs passing; 12-213 3 TDs receiving; 25-149 4 TDs rushing; 206 tackles, 4 fumbles recovered, 1 FR for TD, 2 caused fumbles, 1 INT

That is exactly what I have. I will see what I can find.

One source I have (the only one I can find right now...Abilene Reporter News...ARN) has this for Craig Steele for his JR and SR yeasr:

1995 - Craig Steele, Sidney - 107-215 for 2109 yards and 43 TDs (no INTs listed)
1996 - Craig Steele, Sidney - 83-167 for 1520 yards and 23 TDs with 5 INTs

I always like to cross check stats and haven't with this one so it might be off?

One of the most epic posts on this message board was about a Private School QB who they were saying was the best six-man QB ever...Nate Strand of Greenville Christian 2001-04...he had some very gaudy numbers I remember

this again has not been cross checked...
2004 - Nate Strand, Greenville Christian - 270-447 for 4438 yards 84 TDs (don't have INTs)

an old article about him:
https://www.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=405183

some of the work Tommy Wells use to do...

Coach Shely or the guy that preceded him at RS scheduled as tough a nondistrict schedule in 1996 as you would ever want to play. RS started out in the top ten in the state, so every nondistrict opponant that beat them were either already in the top ten or moved into the top ten after beating RS. I don't think RS won a nondistrict game. The offensive stats for Sidney were more impressive Craig's Jr. year than his Sr year. Their defense was not that good his Jr. year and Sidney had to outscore their opponants. His Sr year Sidney's team was much better and his passing stats went down because of that. In '95 and '96 his passing stats were really good for the game at that time. Now days they would be just above average. In '95 his passing yards were in the neighborhood of 2500 to 2600 in 11 games. In '96 the passing yards were down to 1500 to 1600 in 11 games.

Just my two cents worth, again. The supporting cast has a lot to do with the passer's stats. Sometimes you see a kid trying to carry the load who has a lot of ability, but not much help.

That Nate Strand kid was a horse. I got to see him in the all-star game and he was really good.

This is getting off topic...
A few facts for you about 1996 RS...preseason ranked #8

but you are underselling 1996 RS and their schedule...you cant help your district so look at their non-district...
Mullin in week 1 which was a great team in 1995 (expected to still be good in 96 even after losing talented SRs off the 95 team)
Gordon week 2 - they only won State that year
Sidney week 3 - highly ranked to start the season upset by Cherokee in Bi-District
Milford week 4 - They played Gordon in a tight Semi-Final game that year
Zephyr week 5 - A quarter-finalist team

Ok those teams rankings entering the playoffs....

Mullin - #54 - weakest team 4-6
Gordon - #2 - 10-0
Sidney - #7 - 9-1
Milford - #3 - 10-0
Zephyr - #4 - 9-1

Now tell me RS had a soft schedule in 1996....

Cherokee finished the season in the top 20...around #18 I think...so Sidney's schedule has top ranked private school ACHS (think they were the state runner-up) with John Estes on the team, they played top 10 ranked Zephyr in district, played top 20 ranked Cherokee twice, a tough underrated RS team, and a tough Brookesmith team (7-3 and they weren't bad)

Their schedue was not as easy as your are making it out to be 6 games against quality teams
