Benjamin: Will Anyone Challenge?

I could be mistaken, but the kicker who had a perfect (14 of 14 I believe it was) against Newcastle the year they played such a close game, was an exchange student. Those kicks were the difference in the final result of that game. I know of several schools who have hosted exchange students that wanted to play and made great kickers. In the playoffs that’s a huge weapon. I understand the new proposal on one hand, but also believe there are exchange kids who will be shafted by it. For instance, schools who don’t have enough for a JV team but have a foreign exchange student who wants to play a sport would miss out on that opportunity. I’ve seen schools where the kids went so far as to vote for homecoming king/queen or football hero/sweetheart and give it to foreign exchange kids because they knew it was something they wouldn’t experience back home, and that was really awesome. Like many rules, the small school’s impact is often overlooked in order to solve issues that happened at a bigger school.
That kicking deal with Benjamin is a great point to bring up. Those were the best two teams playing that night in D2. Benji and Newcastle.

Having foreign exchange kids play varsity sports I think violates the fairness aspect of play. It seems consistent to ban exchange students as it falls in line with denying transfers playing time on varsity, That being said I like the competition aspect and believe it should be more of a free for all and let the dang kids play. I’m more in line with that than a school being able to deny a transfer a right to play . The coach loosing a kid to another school and that coach having a say in if he plays or not seems unAmerican.

I was just pondering that today….. and wondered what Benji’s final six man football rating was at that time year before last… I may have it… I’ll look. Each year Gordon finishes 400 or there about …..and how much weight do you give that score on the analysis. 80%?? Benji beat Gordon like a drum in the quarter finals in basketball when Benjiultimately lost to Jayton but Jayton got 45’d by Benji in Hermleigh that year. I bet it would be a spectacular matchup but I’d give the edge of one touchdown on the advantage to Gordon on that matchup. It would not be a 45 mercy rule game in my opinion, but a win for Gordon. An all out war probably

Benjamin had more depth that specific year than any other year. Rigdon is at Arizona State now. Gordon has two players that will play d1. With that said, Brody White (I believe), with a solid kicking game could make the difference. Its hard to say because Gordon is stacked. If im going by gut, I say Gordon wins but barely. But if it's a nail biter, gotta give the edge to Benjamin because of their kicking game. So imo its a flip of a coin who would win.

Would Rigdons jr year at Benjamin been able to beat Gordon? What is y’all’s opinion?

Gordon has as good of a kicking game as there is.
