Were taking the data from Max Prep? I didnt see the 2 from Maryland?

Yeah, I was using MaxPreps for the data for other states. The 2 Maryland schools play in the Spring right now, which is why MaxPreps doesn't have them listed.

I'm pretty much the head of all six-man activity in Maryland as well as being the acting HC/OC and doing all the scheduling/attempted scheduling for 1 of the schools, but I went out of state for college this Fall and no one stepped up to run the league. I've transferred back in state and am trying to pick up where I left off momentum-wise, but it's hard trying to keep growing a league with a full course load and playing college football.

There are rumors that Pennsylvania is looking hard at adding either six or eight-man football in the next couple years. If that happens, about 50+ PA teams will either switch to 6/8-man or add football at that level and I'll try to get a waiver to join their league.

I saw somewhere on here that Throckmorton was playing a combined 6/11 man game. I've been thinking about using this idea to grow the sport up here. The smallest public school in the state (enrollment 132 and shrinking fast- playing in our Class 1A where the biggest school has 712 kids and the next smallest football-playing school has 299) needs a game Week 8 this year, I'll be contacting them asking them if they would agree to a similar game if I can schedule it around my college practices/games or I can find someone else to coach. I will do the same with two of the smallest private schools in the state who both still need games as well, both playing 11-man with around 20 players. Maybe that'll be the best way to get them interested in playing six-man, when they see that it's still football and they can be a lot more competitive.

I've probably sent 100s of emails to schools without football teams, that had recently dropped football, or that were fielding football teams with small rosters and not much success, but there's been only cursory interest at best from almost all schools. At one point it looked like I'd have about 10 schools playing, but right now it's just the same 2 committed to playing. Everyone who has watched/coached/played has had a blast and think it's a great product, the final scrimmage/game of our first season ended on a game-winning TD pass to the center as time expired and 3/4 of the crowd didn't even know you could do that. The problem is just getting people from potential schools out to watch the games.

Yeah we definitely need people that think outside the box. Maybe before Im dust we will see 6man at the Jr College level.

Here's the list of out-of-state sixman schools that I have (I don't have the Maryland schools listed). As far as I know, I think Wyoming and Texas are the only two states that have 6 and 11 man only; other states also include 8 man in their programs. (The coach from Bethune CO was at our Clinic last week; those out-of-state coaches always seem to win the "farthese traveled" prize!)
