Should rename the South the TAPPS D2 All Star Team. No knock on the effort and time being put into this thing, but sure does look like a whole lotta bias on the south team...

Did the defending TAPPS D1 champion coaches from Emery get offered a chance to head or assist in coaching? Why not offer all of the Tapps or Tcal champ coaches an opportunity to assist, wouldn't that help get a more balanced selection as opposed to 20 of 28 south players coming from TAPPS D2?

Obviously if no one from Emery or Castle Hills or the above players mentioned applied then it makes sense. Would think there would be some great seniors from NBCA, Concordia, Freddy, Katy FW and more seniors from Feast/Tribe/Wilco/Veritas who would have applied and been worthy of a spot over the 4th and 5th seniors from numerous TAPPS D2 squads.

I'm sure the organizers can't share those details but can anyone from the schools mentioned above and some I may have missed add some clarity?

How did two players from nazarene in TCAF make it and there are no players represented from the 3 seniors from 11-0 Lucas Christian

I was in contact with Coach George and let him know that unfortunately a number of our players wouldn't be able to play in the game. We have some guys going to basketball and soccer at the conclusion of football. Basketball has a district game that Saturday and soccer has a tournament that weekend. I thought our QB and MLB/C would be able to play. But, then realized the game would take place the weekend leading up to finals. They would have to miss a review day to attend the Friday practice, and the travel to Watauga for the game back to Houston wouldn't leave much time to study for test the next week. We would have loved to have a couple of our players to have one more opportunity to play and compete in the all-star game. It just didn't work out this year. Hopefully, it will work out for us to have some representatives for the game in the future.

Having coached this game before, I can tell you that not all kids apply and not all coaches get the nominations turned in. For various reasons, some kids don't want to participate, whether it's travel, basketball or senioritis. I know that this years coaches made every effort to get kids signed up.

I used to assist in the organization of this game. We used to field many similar questions.

One of the things you have to remember is that there is no true perfect world scenario when it comes to the all star game. Many coaches do not nominate their kids, and many kids choose to move on to the next sport. Also, many private school six-man coaches have day jobs outside of their respective schools. It is hard for them to commit time to coaching at this event as well.

Just some thoughts

Thank you all for understanding and know we only want to give these kids the best experience as we can.

We are excited to host the Sixman Private School All-Star Game here at Harvest Christian Academy. The day’s festivities will go as followed.

We will start serving lunch at 11:45. Players meals have been included and family and friends pay just $8.
The jersey presentation will follow lunch at 1:00.
There will be a combine at 3:00 pm.
Game time is 6:00 pm. (Pre-Game meal for players will be ready to serve at 4:00 pm.)

The address of the school is 7200 Denton Highway. The lunch and jersey presentation will take place in the school cafeteria. Entrance to the cafeteria is on the south side of the school. If coming from 820, stay straight on Denton Highway and turn right on Hightower then turn into the 3rd entrance on your left. You will enter the doors beneath the big stained glass window. Can’t wait to see everyone and to celebrate these young men!
