Zephyr on the SEC agenda 11/10

The transfers are those living in the surrounding ISDs. Bwd, Early, SS, RS,etc. 40-50 per year according to the supt. I believe he said 8 former RS girls came in one group and were playing summer tournaments in Zephyr jerseys while still enrolled at RS. There were several verbal reprimands from the chairman over different violations.

At least one was a boy. He has been playing varsity football this season.

That might change the complexion of the situation especially for Blanket and Gustine, but that was surely discussed in the district committee meetings.
This was all stuff done in the basketball district I believe. Blanket and Gustine are not in that district. But who knows what will happen now? Seems like a mess and it also seems incomplete ?

Something that caught my attention was these girls don't all live in Richland Springs. 1 or 2 of them live in San Saba, a couple of them live in Brownwood. And from what I understood, not all of them play basketball. It was mentioned that it appeared they were following the coach's daughter more than the coach. They're 13 and 14 year olds and all close friends with the coach's daughter. The type friends that not only hang out together, but have sleepovers at each other's houses, travel together with each other's families and it was also stated that some of them have gone on vacations with the other girls families. The chairman told the coach that there are more things she could have and should have done to protect herself from the allegations. Another thing brought up by the parents and grandparents was they felt like Richland Springs is a very toxic environment and they wanted their daughters out of the school because of things that were happening. It was also stated that Richland Springs did mark a couple of the transfers as being for athletic purposes, but it was turned in by another school district. The other school distict wasn't named.

Sounds like a good coach. The kids must respect and like. I know the uil may not see it that way or other schools but being a teenagers hard enough and as long as they are happy who cares! Hope they have a great jr high/ high school experience! Main thing is I hope what ever happens there successful in life!
