Zephyr on the SEC agenda 11/10

Probably related to the comment made earlier in another message. "Yea that’s why one has a sibling still going to RS to play football but the sister transfers to follow the coach. It was girls following the coach."

Very well could be. I do remember in the hearing with Richland last month that Zephyr was brought up, but UIL kind of dismissed it as that wasn’t what that particular meeting was about.

This may be more related to the girls side of things, but with a small school where coaches are used for multiple roles, it could implicate the boys side. Not even sure what it’s about, but evidently the DEC thought it was worth sending up the ladder.

It is an unfortunate chain of events. The lady on the hot seat next week was with RS previously. She was / is a terrific coach. Her students really liked her. So much so, that some followed her to Zephyr, at least that is how it appears from the outside looking in.

I don’t know all of the facts so I will refrain from passing any judgment on the individuals themselves. Generally speaking, however, it appears that RS and Zephyr are in a contest to see how much they can tattle on each other. My hope is that everyone will go back to minding their own business and playing ball.

I'm amazed in this day and age that anyone would move because they liked a coach. What is to be gained? The loss could be one's reputation as a coach or school. Play by the rules!

The facts of this case were laid out in another thread on here. The seeds were voter complacency. Then nit-wit and incompetent administration. Then great coaches forced to migrate. Then upset 😢 parents and students. Then the snowball effects from papf s, DEC members hard feelings, revenge, SEC involvement, rumors, hearsay, ……Taylor Sheridan might get some ideas here!

Just by going off what I’ve read here and what I heard in the hearing against the coach from RS. Seems to me there is hard feelings. I get that. I guess the question is, was it recruiting or just following the coach? Which is not unheard of. If the families actually moved from RS district then is there really an issue? Other than hurt feelings? In large cities moving from one district to another is not uncommon. Sometimes it’s to get away from a coach not to follow one. All that being said it’s gonna be interesting to see what is brought in as evidence of anything that violates rules.
