I don't know about upsets, but I can say this, teams have low ratings and some teams have high ratings and most of this is due to last seasons successes or failures. This is a new year with alot of teams getting many new players or younger players just growing up. With this influx of new talent it is very difficult for Granger to rate the teams accurately. This is why it will take a few weeks to straighten things out. As an example, Town East (at this time) really is not as good as Granger has them rated, while teams such as CASA, Brenham, and Annapolis are rated too low. It will take awhile for the cream to rise to the top.
Let me give you an example, last year Town East lost to Winston by about 30 points, yet this year we are favored by 45+. We are not even close to being as good as we were last year. This is all based on the teams success from last year, and the respect that we have gained as a program over the last couple of years. But all that has nothing to do with this years team. So if Winston wins the game this Friday, it really shouldn't be considered an upset, they did win last year and we did lose some very good players also. I hope I make sense.
