What is up with the Referrees this year?

I have never seen the lack of officialing that I have seen in the Playoff games this year. It is like they have hire 6 grade referee's for the playoff games this year. I watched Santa Anna Gordon game tonight. What I seen missed was 2 face mask by Santa Anna. 2 Holds by Santa Anna. 8 facemask Gordon 6 Holds. One that the guy actually held the player down on the ground and wouldnt let him up, kept. A fake fair catch, acted like he was going to kneal the ball (knee never hit the ground), then he picked up the ball and started running the ball. Santa Anna tackled him for the safety. Two officials called it a safety, the Gordon coach came on the field and talked to the refs, and the refs took it away. A on side kick that didnt go 15 yards with no penalties (not sure of the rule on that). Im just saying I would be embarassed of myself if that was the kind of job that I did and was okay with it.
And dont go all of saying it was kust mistakes, I have heard referees in the Brownwood TASO talk at work about calling a lop sided game to change the out come of a game. This has been going on many years is this division.

There we're a couple of missed calls for both sides. That part I agree with. The rule for the "safety", they got it right, the ball crossed the plane and hit the ground before he touched it, automatically making it a touchback. Anything that happened after the ball hit the ground in the endzone was inconsequential. The refs we're out of Abilene, not Brownwood.

I was at the game as well, and as far as the safety that got taken away, the ball was dead when it hit the ground in the end zone. That's just the refs fault for not blowing the whistle. And the onside kick that didn't go 15 yards, it's not a penalty it's just down where it's touched. I thought the refs did pretty good tonight overall. They weren't too biased toward either team. At least all the refs signaled the PAT. Haha

I agree the officials were equal tonight yes they did botch the dead ball when it into the end-zone for a touch back by not blowing the whistle but other than that i thought they were pretty good...yes they missed some calls on both sides but you gotta let the boys play. Two very good football teams that are well coached and played with heart and desire...God I love Six-Man football

Mostly I thought the game was very well officiated. They didn't interrupt the flow of the game by injecting themselves into the game as happened during Gordon vs Savoy the week before. I have so seldom seen a 5-man crew that it took a moment for me to adjust. It took the players even longer as the Umpire was in places where the players were not expecting an official to be. The kickoff play was certainly odd to not be blown dead. I had to look up the NCAA rule book when I got home to refresh my memory.....At the time I thought the receiver could attempt to return and if tackled or fumble in the end zone without ever crossing the plane into the field it would be blown dead and ruled as a touchback.

Actually,
this has been the best year of officiating
that I've ever seen!

(I better get some good calls for that next year) ;)

Do refs in your chapters call both sixman and eleven man? I have heard that sixman teams get the leftovers and bad 11 man crews. I am not as used to sixman rules so, most of us could have thought we were getting good officials and they may have been ripping us bad.
