We have one and its a maintenance nightmare. Plus I feel it reels to fast to give the field the soaking that it needs on one pass. Most of the time the hose is spooled off and the sprinkler is just moved to the next spot needing water.
Our old lay pipe with 6 or so sprinklers was more of a pain but I know did a better job of keeping the field moist.
I would say buy some cheap poly pipe and two big sprinklers and go at it.

Covington ISD purchased a new WaterReel from Smith Irrigation Equipment for a little under $4000.
From looking on their website, They have SEVERAL sizes to choose from.
The one CISD purchased works great for us, Just started using it this month.
