* unbeaten left in D1

Brawny

11-man fan
4 unbeatens fell Friday. Here are those left by district#
Dist 2- Turkey Valley and Petersburg (that could be a fun district game to watch when they meet)
Dist 6- Water Valley
Dist 7- Ira
Dist 9- Santa Anna
Dist 10- Evant
Dist 12- Savoy
Dist 16- Apple Springs

I wouldn't read too much in being unbeaten four games into the season. Now if they are still unbeaten nine games into the season we can start looking at them pretty close.

I agree, 1/3 fell this week, and in 6 man , one injured kid can hurt ya. But I do see a couple of possible surprises brewing and thats part of the fun.

We will see how many hold up over the next few weeks.

I don't think it means much of anything at all. You have to look at who they have beaten. Somebody? Nobody? Valley's 4-0 record has some merritt behind it. Richland Springs... Not so much. Not because RS isn't a great team, but because there are a lot of teams that would also be 4-0 with their schedule thus far.

The ONLY thing that matters is if you go 15-0 and nothing less!
If going 10-0 and getting beat in the 1st round of the playoffs is a great season to you, WOW is all I have to say!

You'll NEVER reach the ultimate goal, thinking like that!!!!

That quote don't carry much weight with RS. They been playing the weakest pre-district schedule for years and years and what has it got them, 5 of them!
So that bologna about playing a early tough schedule instead of a cupcake schedule will only make you a better team down the road.....? Chunck that crap out the window!

I didn't say that playing a tough team makes you better, I said being 4-0 at this point doesn't make you a great team.

I still wouldn't read much into it when they are unbeaten after 10 games! Just being honest here!
Good Point!
Instead of considering pre-district action
as a prep for district action,
are you saying
the bigger picture seems to be
considering the whole season (10 games)
as a prep for the last (potential) 5 games?
Granted that we still have to play em' one game at a time.

Jason Garett sez: "It's a process".

I will say this that Savoy hasn't played a tough schedule. I think that the toughest test will be Friday at Fannindel. But after years of getting the boys heads kicked in, our boys are walking a little taller and and going about getting prepared for each game better than ever before.

I do not agree that 15-0 is all that matters. It is good for a whole town to make the playoffs. Especially when they have not had a playoff team for a while. The whole town gets excited about it. I swear the kids even act better at school. Even if its just for one week...its good to be a playoff team. Thats my story and Im stickin with it.
