UIL State Executive Committee Meeting Results

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUSTIN, TX‹ Two students will remain ineligible for varsity athletics and one school was suspended from varsity basketball competition through 2008 due to decisions handed down by the State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League on Thursday.

The State Executive Committee denied appeals by students from Collinsville High School and Pflugerville High School, thereby upholding previous decisions finding the students ineligible. The students are ineligible for varsity athletics for changing schools for athletic purposes.

Collinsville High School basketball coach Bobby Stastny was issued a public reprimand and one-year probation for violation of Section 51 (a) (8) of the UIL Constitution and Contest Rules regarding recruiting.

Additionally, Bryan Brazos Inquiry and Creativity School was suspended from varsity basketball competition through the 2007-08 season, for failure to complete their basketball season. The suspension is in effect for both the girls and boys basketball programs.
