aquilla fans can be pretty bad. i've heard fans call players a certain 5 letter word on numerous occasions.

I'd bet that would have come from one of 2 people. Those guys are always crude.

they can be extremely entertaining though, i'll give them that. they made an interesting abbott-aquilla basketball game last year

Entertaining is one way to put it, but I prefer embarrassing.

Piss some people off but those towns are all just trashy people attractors I guess. Some classy folks and even players/coaches. But they can get super rowdy!!

Back in the 70s, I worked with a guy who used to ref basketball games. I'm guessing the game he described was in the 60s. He officiated at a game in Godley that turned ugly. The home crowd took exception to a number of his and the other ref's calls and turned very threatening by the end of the game. As soon as the final buzzer went off, they ran to the dressing room and climbed out the window to get away.
