The big C - a nightmare in the making.

Can anyone go and hunt these trouts or do i need to take a course or class to be qualified?
Buy a fly rod and practice casting. One of the others going can suggest what fly's work best in that area or you can just buy som salmon eggs or nightcrawlers.

Pete thanks for jogging my memory. Fresh trout out of a cold clear mountain stream or river is some of the tastiest and tenedrest eating there is. Have not been since I was a kid. Dad worked at Martin-Marietta outside of Denver a couple of years then later for Stanley Aviation. Remember fishing the South Platte river and a couple of small lakes (Chin, Sherwin outside of Georgetown). Had to search for Platoro. Stayed in Del Norte once while skiing Wolf Creek. Such beautiful country. Been going to take the wife since we've been married. Could cause a divorce if I went without her now.

Here in Texas, brotherinlaw's family used to have a camp on the Brazos clear fork once a year - fish fry deluxe - yummiee!

live worms were illegal.

Hope I don't have to serve hard time if caught smuggling em in.

check with goob for worms in hiney treatment
couldn't find him on my provider list. Might be cheaper to pay the fine than the insurances out-of-network fee.

I remember going out in the yard the night before we went camping/fishing with a flashlight trying to catch em' before they went back in the ground when the light hit them.
This was in the mid/early 60's, I was 6-7-8. No idea if it was legal then, don't think we'd of been doing it if it was knowing Daddy.

Butttt, with no eye's how were the worm's seeing the light? Never thought about it before.
Maybe they feel vibration in the ground as you step closer???

Might have to find a way to finally take the wife just so I can go too (yes RJ that spells whooped). Boss goes every year. Close to Creede, takes his 5th wheel house and a dirt bike.
My problem is I want to see too much, again, alot of it, and share it.
Rocky Mountain National Park, that highest paved road in the world - incredible, Steamboat Springs, Vail, Aspen, Rifle (N. of, hunting), Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Central City, the million dollar highway/Ouray, Leadville, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Royal Gorge, I could go on...
I could spend all summer there.
Thanks again Pete.

I hope Pete don't think we jacked his thread,
talkin' bout worms an all.

I was prolly 9, in '69, in Aurora
(we lived on a street named Ouray)
when I went nightcrawler huntin' for first time.
I too wondered how they knew I was there!

All threads are jacked at some point, wouldn't be any fun otherwise. I saw a PBS special one day on worm calling, you drive a stick in the ground then saw on it with another piece of wood. The worms think it is a mole so they head to the surface to be safe. Ha, you just pick em up. Was kind of creepy seeing all those worms coming up.

Worms don't have eyes but they do have photosensitive cells scattered on their top layer of skin. Survival mechanism since light=bad for a worm.

Doggy, you may love a woman that's hot and smart, but one with both of those qualities wouldn't have a dang thing to do with you. :-)

No wonder you felt kinda wormy at at the end of last week. The thought of being medicated and seeing an image like that kinda gives me the heeby-jeeby's.

hah! if you were a teacher responsible for hundreds of arcane science experiments for 5 and 6 year olds year after year, you too would have a vast store of worthless science trivia knowledge. of course you have to be careful about opening up her freezer when she's doing her lesson plan on octopi (octopuses?) ...
